I just had a friend try to read my previous tune by Jestr and he wasn't able to get in. Jestr has it locked!!!!! Raiceboi or Evors06: Are you guys able to unlock what Jestr has done on the ECU?? Have you guys experienced this before? I'm new to this and am confused as to why it would be locked???

yes it can be done i have a program called ecu unlocker that does the job jestr has been known to lock his tune but it will be unlocked no worries,

 

yeah we got that covered, no worries.

 

My buddy has that ECU unlocker and couldn't do it... We'll see on Saturday...

You need to make a "virtual com port" & assign it to the USB port, it's not hard, you just need the VCP driver & know how to configure it.

 

it was the wideband thing but it works now, ryan you are on the list and ill give you a call soon. chan, also need to call you as well, we have been crazy busy with gettting back from iraq recently. we can look at you ecu while we are all waiting for the tuning i can give a look at it so we can fix it..worse case we just start a new ma p for ya and get rid of the jester thing

 

Yeah if you want to log wideband then find out what port the wideband is on and set it under Wideband->Select Wideband Serial Comport . Then you can turn wideband logging back on.

If jestr is locking the maps, then please ask him for the original map on the car. The reason is that they are two basic ways to "obfuscate" the map.

1) Change the init code (what ecuunlocker should help with)
2) Change the base map that the rom inherits from

#2 is the one where you pull the map and everything is in gibberish. Thats particular dangerous since changes you make in ECUFlash might not actually be getting put in the right part of the map. Getting the original map back from Jestr and then starting from there is the best bet if #2 has also been done (some people are doing both).

 

naw my wideband wont work i havent made the connection thing as i am basically to lazy to go to rat shack and but the 2 buck connector and spend the 5min to do it....once i do i should be back in bussiness and be able to log with it. thou i never got my active matrix e mail thing but i was wondering if you could e mail me the ecu unlocker program so i can help anyone local. i have been doin some tuning of my car on my own, small stuff as i fell comfortable doing it... if anything i have a 06 evo 9 SE map that has not a damn thing done to it(read bone stock)...as long as we can get your imobilizer code from your old map we can make that one work. the only problem is that this se is silver, not graphite grey, hope thats not a problem....LOL!

Well, I trashed the Small 16G on my GSX somehow this week. So it looks like the PTE 50-trim is going on early... God I hope I can get this thing running well and dialed in for the event. So put me on as tentative!

I need a couple of reducer couplers and a stainless oil feed line to finish it!!

2"-2.5" and 2.5"-3" are the couplers I need. Anyone want to donate?
