You know what the problem is now a days is there is nobody that will treat your investment with the proper care. I dont like taking my car to places and finding dirt on my floor mats or a scratch on my center console that didn't use to be there. Especially these guys...hell my car wouldn't ever go there even if I lived next door.

I just read it all, and all I can say is wow! There are some pissed off people in that thread. This just adds to the stories I have heard about that shop.

I dont know if I ever contributed to that thread, but the last time I wrote anything in correspondence to the 'shop that shall remain nameless,' was in neutrality and of basic defense... after I heard the stories from James' car, I dropped any association or defense...I decided to just walk away from talking pro's or con's in regards to the place...

I can only dowse the fire with so much water... when kerosene is thrown into the mix, you gotta know when to either let it burn out, or make sure you can put it out with even MORE water... or in this shop's case - positive reviews... unfortunately there isnt enough reviews that credit their rep...

... I cant speak for the subie guys, but I stay outta that mess altogether. When drama stink is near, I plug my nose and walk the other way...

Well, I hope that guy gets things worked out. BUT

One thing that people need to understand about this industry is that it is WHORED OUT. Everyone wants a good deal or a hookup... Then you have the guy selling part out of his basement making no profit, then just drop shipping it. It is very rare to make over 10% on parts, most the time you make like 5%, then you have to compete with other shops on labor, so the profit drops there... So, where is the money for the shop to set aside in an "oh ****" instance... There isn't. They have no choice but to deny the claims.... When people start paying retail for parts and paying book time on installs, then they may find a business that has budgeted for the "oh ****". If there is no profit, there is NO BUDGET! The only reason I am in this industry is because I love it, NOT to make money. We do stand behind or work 100% because that is what we valued most when we started our company, but I will tell you, it is getting harder and harder to do so with no profit out there. Most performance shops barely break even if they are lucky. So, what is everyone going to do when there are no one left to work on cars? With the economy like it is, it will happen fast. Shops are falling and so are USA manufactures.. The China part thing is killing this industry too, buy your parts from the US companies and stop supporting the downfall. There is a reason the US Dollar is falling so fast.

Find a good reputable shop and be loyal. Pay a higher price for the parts and labor, then you know you will have someone there in the future and someone that can really stand behind their work! If you keep buying the cheapest part out there and going to the cheapest shop, you will almost defiantly get burned. Half the business we do is fixing messed up work by the cheap shop, it then ends up costing the customer a lot more in the long run.. But the funny thing is, you think the customer would have learned the lesson for the next time around.. WRONG.. Got to get the best deal right?

We are very lucky to have a few really loyal customers, for those out there I thank you! With their support and hopefully others to come, we will be around for a long time and so will the good shops out there!
