Incidentally, Dynojet also recommends doing the same and mentioned this specifically during the training session...

You can safely strap the car down from the control arms. However he apparently doesnt want it done this way as is his choice, it being his dyno.

I know of a 1000whp+ VIII that gets strapped down from the control arms for dyno sessions.

Just for everyone's clarification, I'm sure it can be done, and I'm not disputing this ~ but I would prefer to use the hooks in this case.

I not sure why it seems like it's an issue to pull the center undertray in the interest of safety and efficiency at the same time. Nothing can be guranteed every time, and we're taking every effort to make sure nothing happens to your car while it's on our dyno even though you will be signing the waiver that releases us from any liability.

We've only had one car *almost* come off in the 250+ cars we've done in the last 8 months and that was also "safely" strapped in before too. Considering that the car was only making 400+ at the wheels, I'm not about to take any chances ~ we've even gone so far as to purchase new dyno straps to ensure everyone's safety.

Regards!

Its an issue for those of us who retain that tray for various reasons and don't want to have to take it off just for a dyno when we've safely dyno'd at other places with the tray on.

Its your dyno, and your rules...so whoever doesn't respect that is silly .

Because its approximately 39 of the most retarted little screws ever created on the bottom of a car. Just about any evo owner who takes them on and off will tell you its the biggest pain in the *** on our cars. To bad we dont all live in az.

None the less its your call, so we will make it happen.

I stopped in and talked to Bob today. What a class act I gotta tell you. Nice guy that really likes people and cars. I watched the vid he had of the one car he was talking about...and well I agree with him 100% on how he wants them strapped down.

Bob-How much power did that Firebird/Camaro end up putting down?

There was a slight "POW" during one of the runs (I'll have to post that video up on you tube!) and after I made sure that my eyebrows were still on, the final run was 1200+ to the wheels!

Regards!
