Hey found this on Craigslist, one of my friends is looking to buy an evo, what do you guys think?

You never know with a built motor big turbo car. I guess you have to check it out and make sure that it is actually as good as the seller says it is. Even then you still don't know what you are getting. My best advice for your friend is to try to buy an EVO close to stock as possible.

 

Well seeing that the turbo kit has been pieced together and it has a built motor tells me he probably races it quite a bit and did most the work himself, the stock motor probably was blown, and the front bumper is hideous. May be nice but I would CAREFULLY look it over and check for any irregular drivetrain noise. Looking at it I assume its been abused one way or another and at those power levels things wear out much much quicker. Me personally I would just buy stockish one or very lightly modded. Even with all those mods he shouldn't want much more than 20-22k. 03's are going for about 20k with decent mileage but remember that some of them had the most recalls and minor problems...just depends if they had the TSB's and things up to date then its good.

I "Think" I saw this car at the late TF back earlier this year.
