Another let down, a fun day at the track, and no brakes...

Of course my pads didn't arrive in time, I'm done buying stuff from W1... After about 5 laps I had complete brake fade, petal against the carpet, here's pics of one of the rotors and the thread I started with Works ...

However, PIR is great with a fresh set of asphalt, I spent most of the day trying to figure out the new 6 and 7, team continental puts on a great time!

pir pavement is a joy compared to pr isn't it.

that big corner is going to see some major prime time. can you imagine guys making a move in that corner with all the room. forget the line, guys will be driving to block, but how, its like the walmart parking lot.

Just call carbotech directly. I had them 2 day brake pads to me for my first track day in the evo in 2006. I did that same back in the day with my s2000. No reason to buy pads through any intermediate company. Try XP 10/XP 8 (front/rear). I don't know how fast you are, but those pads with good brake fluid should be up to the task. If you really want to try some aggressive pads you can buy my XP 12. They have been used one time. They were wayyy to much for street tires. I didn't have the shaved RA1s at the time.

^So how what's 10 like now that you aren't supposed to get up on the painted sections? That was pretty much my favorite 'corner'.

Wasn't bad at all, you can still cut it close and clip the edge of the last gator, but 7 is... wow, it's going to be the place to watch like the other poster said. I was the first car on the the track on Friday, and first one around 7, it's a real late apex now, and I came in on the brakes hard, the back end swung out and I powered a sweet 4 wheel slide around it like a pro, lol, 2 laps later I was the first to go off the track in the same turn. Went off straight into the sand, no damage, wasn't even a bumpy ride. The thing is tho, late apex 7 and it's a straight shot thru 8 and 9 onto the back straight. I was just touching 128 MPH but I was braking about 3 fence posts before the 400 mark because of the brake problem.

It's gonna be crazy, it looks like the corner's about 6 cars wide, then yeah, it's a wall-mart lane after the apex, I never did really figure the corner out all day, you defenately need to be in the right place coming out of 6 to do it right. I couldn't find anything consistantly fast all day. Bury the evo understeer with full throttle ftw! lol gotta love AWD+HP

7 does sound very interesting. I'm disappointed in 10. I liked to get so far up on 10 you could almost make 11 straight. I would hit right around 127-128 or so myself in the old config, but I was running shaved RA1s last year. So do you think you will hit higher terminal speeds with the new config compared to the older one? I can't wait to have my first track day this year. It will be in an ariel atom, but hopefully I will be out in the evo later this year.

Damn. 3 months for cams? I thought I was pissed when it took a month to get HID bulbs shipped to my door. They must have been chiseling them by hand
