Motorcycles and cars 25 years and older are exempt from the law.

(I don't mean to bash all cops, but America defiantly has an issue. Our cops have way too much power. Most cops in england don't even carry guns and they have less violent crimes then we do. Have you seen a cops util belt lately? How many weapons do they need: baton, pepper spray, taser, 9mm... I don't want to start a whole thread about cops; this isn't the place for that, but I wanted to make a side note.)
You must note that we live in America. If our cops did not carry those weapons, people would just laugh at them. I agree that sometimes cops use their power in a negetive way, but there is always going to be those people. Something you, me and the rest of the country is going to have to get use to.

Thats very rare. Maybe back in the 80s and 90s, but today if you dont give an officer lip, there not going to hit you.

People act like idiots and wonder why they get treated like ****, its pretty simple.

I got pulled in Auburn for no front plate and aftermarket exhaust. Real crime solving going on, someone across the street was probably getting mugged and I'm getting pulled over for nothing.

That's the kicker. In law, if it does not clearly define what excessive or unusual is, then it could likely be successfully argued in court.

If you have a cat, a silencer, and muffler then you can argue that you have complied with the law and that any sounds emitted are neither excessive nor unusual (for this specific configuration on this specific vehicle). Get it?

It may be subjectively loud.. subjective being the key word. But certainly not unusual or excessive... where excessive is not defined.

Ehh.. but I'm just speculating. I'm no lawyer.

Yeah the law sucks, it cant be louder than stock. Just ask the officer if he has the stock decimal reading for your car and if he has the rating machine. It works everytime for me. Or take the ticket go to court with your car put on the stock exhaust on and tell the judge that you have the car with you and ask him if he would like to hear for himself. Just be respectful and let them know you are aware of the law and usually the will let you off. My brother has a ciminal justice major.
