It the cops preference, I guess. I had an aftermarket exhaust on pretty much as soon as I got my Evo in 2004. Dropped the cat soon after and never got herassed even though I had a flame shooting out of my car. Sounds like profiling to me. How bout the HD cycle driving by? Or the V-8 muscle car?

It is a crap shoot with the cop's interpretation of the law since it is a bit vague. I have contacted SEMA about this a few months ago, and I don't think anything will relly be done. They had already offerered model legislation and that was changed a few years ago because the state didn't want to spend money on decibel readers...
