Does anybody have experience with the Greddy Profect B II and high(er) boost?
Hey guys,
So I'm getting a bit frustrated at my current setup because I just can't get a consistent boost pressure between gears. I'll go ahead and detail my setup below:
IX SE
Meth 100%
Greddy profec B II (obviously)
Injen intake
3" TBE
Settings currently for the profec B II:
Set: 96%
Gain: 6%
Set Gain: 26
In 1st and 2nd gear, I hit 24.5 psi. In 3rd-5th I can hit 28 psi. I have raised the set up a couple percent and it really isn't making a difference at this point. It does in the later gears, but not down low.
I get a lot of surging at partial throttle, but at full throttle it's not bad. As I lower my set gain, I'm noticing more surging. Also, if I raise my set much I get surging as well.
The other thing that's frustrating me right now is that when I do my logging in 3rd, I hit 28psi at peak and drop to 22 at redline. Generally I'd raise the gain to get a more consistent amount of boost, but I get significant amounts of surge if I do at this point.
Perhaps I'm just running into the limits of the stock wastegate? Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Wanted to ask from folks I know before I hit up the main forums.

you typically don't get as much boost in the shorter gears as you do the longer gears. I would do a boost leak test with an air compressor also to make sure your turbo isn't overspinning to compensate for a leak.
my settings for 34psi on a HTA 35R
Set: 72%
Gain: 7%
Set Gain: 26
naturally a bigger turbo doesn't need as much duty cycle.

I'll give that a shot Mellon.
Do you guys also get a decent amount of surging in partial throttle applications?
Overall I think I've got the settings correct, maybe just a fine adjustment here or there. But it's amazing the differences that the higher boost is making car. With the partial throttle surging and everything. Since this is the first time I've really tuned the boost up, I've been VERY surprised what a difference 5psi makes.

The partial throttle surge is hell with the SSQV... yeah I know I should change it but I have no moneys... for me running 24 psi here are my settings... Also as Mellon said, i never hit max boost in 1st or 2nd only 3-5... I had tried setting my gain % up a bit but at WOT pull my bosst would flutter like crazy
