Goes to show just how much Subaru messed up the new STI design.

They did not mess up. **** car sales that is not what is important here.

If they did not go to the new body style they would have lost arguably the best currant rally driver to another team. They had to build the car this way to stay competitive in wrc and i think they did a damn good job of it.

Yes the car is ugly but lets face it.... no one wants an sti whether the body style looks good or not.

Yep. The true "evolution" of the car stopped after the VI. I'd like to see the FIA do away with the WRC class and go back to Group A with homologation enforced again.

That should lower back the bar significantly for Mitsubishi to get back in the game even though with the global economy how it is now.....

I guess that's my opinion, but the new STi looks a lot like the old Mazda and may other small hatchbacks. I wouldn't go spending 30k+ on a car which doesn't have a unique look even if it has 300+ hp and AWD. I don't watch too much WRC, but when I do, I don't see any new sti body styles, I only see the '07 look.

I have never had a chance to watch WRC but Rally isn't my min interest anyways. I picked the Evo for its superior handling and power capabilities. Looks appeal I think both the 06-07 and the Evo 9 are very close with the Evo coming out on top for me due to the edgy lines being more aggressive.

The new wagon STi I'm not sure what to make of it yet. I haven't gotten a ride in person but the reviews isn't very good for those guys right now.

I have heard only good things from 08 sti owners. They all said it feels so much better then the 04-07's.

I have seen a few that look really good. If they are lowered, with mud flaps, I think they look pretty bada55. But at the same time its hard to tell them apart from the other hatchbacks as James stated.

Every review I've read, they're heavier and slower with softer suspension and marginal brakes. One magazine went as far to call it just a 'fast grocery getter' now.
