Introduce yourself to the people in NW!!
^welcome! Where abouts on campus/off campus are you? You can give the general area if you don't want people hunting your car down.
We should get some pictures somewhere with all that garage space. Actually, it wouldn't be a bad place to get all of us Evo owners together for pix.

This one is kinda old, but I spotted a white evo 8 or 9 with voltex stuff, rough rack, and voltex rear diffuser at stevens. This was prolly 3 weeks ago or more roughly. I was in a white 07 VW GTI. Car looked nice!

Not sure why I didn't do this a few months ago but hello my name is Daniel. I'm 27 with kids and a wife. With the hectic schedule of children, a job and store ownership I seem to lack any real hobbies. I love spirited driving on mountain roads, so I figured I would start with motorsports and go from there.
I'm one of the few evo owners holding up this southern backwater area of the NW (if that makes any sense)
I own a nice ww 05 evo 8 that appears stock but I have a few mods to get some extra hp out of this car. I was given some good advice and did a tune at English Racing shortly after picking up the car. Put down some decent numbers but I think there is room for improvement. 369whp before getting the test pipe on and the ETS intercooler piping installed. I'll make my back up to ER to see where I stand.
Maybe this spring I'll make it to one of your meets.

^listen pal, I don't know who you think you are but there is already an Evo owner here named Daniel with kids and a wife! I suppose I'll let it slide since you have an VIII
Welcome to the group! What kind of store do you own, or do you mean to say you are the anonymous pr0n site owner Ryan mentions above?

The wife and I own 2 Subway restaurants in town. Actually it's more my wife's, I'm just the gold digging husband.
If I were still a bachelor I'd rock a few sites. Maybe this Ryan character has some anonymous connections to that certain industry. I wouldn't mind being a stand-in. We should get together and discuss some numbers.
Guess to avoid confusion I could be Dirty Dan or some other not-so-clever nickname.

haha, no worries Dan. How does the Subway bidness treat ya? I sometimes wonder how f'd the little guy (or little gal) is when HQ pushes down the $5 deals. I realize that isn't required necessarily, or all sannitches aren't, but wasn't sure how it affected the franchise owner.
I know that Cold Stone owners get f'd by coupons HQ forces them to honor from the people they get the ice cream from, for instance.

The other subways that cater to middle class and lower income customers are getting the extra customers because instead of getting cheap food from mc donalds, they are going to their subways.
They are getting extra profit from those extra sales where our sales stay the same but the profit margin is less. Of course Subway HQ gets royalties every month based off of our sales, not profit. Sucks for us but HQ loves it.
Probably shouldn't have explained all that but the internet is a private place right?

So who here loves trying to figure out where their exhuast leak is coming from? raise your hand

^that makes sense, and sounds like that can really suck.
As for the exhaust leak, probably easiest to work your way backwards, and probably more likely to have happened there. Though you do have a mani and DP according to your sig, so it could be closer as well. Can you hear it, smell it, or is it something else?

I took some pictures because I wasn't so sure about the black carbon on the wastegate, or the part that.. nevermind I'll just link some pictures.
The more I look at the manifold the more I think I need to change it out for a quality piece. The rust looking crap worries but the weather has been weird lately. I definitely smell it first thing in the morning and at different times while driving. haven't found a relation to how i'm driving that causes it. and I hear it under normal driving as well but when accelerating the turbo and exhaust drown it out.
If you look at the manifold, there is that one bolt there with carbon coming out. Ive had trouble with that bolt coming undone. Now that I think of it, I should have wiped the carbon off to see if its still leaking and used some sort of high temp locktight on it.
Edit: nm Aaron at ER figured it out.
