Introduce yourself to the people in NW!!
nice pickup, Demon. Was it purchased in WA or did you have to go elsewhere to get it? How much, if you don't mind me asking (PM me, if you don't want to broadcast). Enjoy it!
It was from washington, yes. I paid 22.5 + tax (came out to just over 24 I think)
not a terrible price, and one i was more than willing to pay. low miles, SE, new clutch recently, previous owner had all oil change reciepts and clutch reciept, inspection checked out fine aside from brakes being worn (normal wear, but they obviously tell you they're worn), completely stock engine/drivetrain/body, .... was the absolutely perfect evo that i was looking for (and probably perfect for anyone for that matter)... only thing that's missing is floor mats and front lip was ripped off over winter by a branch the guy didnt see so it's missing the front lip and undertray (honestly i dont like the SE lip anyways), so i'm slowly buying back those parts as i find them. floor mats come first to keep the carpets inside nice =)
i'm still not quite sure that I own the car, still seems too good to be true haha

welcome, i was you about 6 months ago

dont copy me and get in a wreck before your first car payment.
change your fluids asap all of em it will save you.
and i was kidding justin (lancerstud) is a decent human
very cool demon. Sounds like you might have gotten a rare gem. Figure out what lip you want as it will look that much better. If you don't do it now I'm sure you'll do it after your first meet (after seeing all the cars lined up with lips and yours without).
One question - did the previous owner also not know the undertray was off? If that is what they said, they are full of it and I would question why they decided to lie. As Derek said, I'd recommend fluids change (DIY, as it is easy) just so you have peace of mind of what is in there. A relatively recent member's gal got an Evo and found out within a week that there was no tranny fluid (I think that was the lacking fluid) but it was too late.

It's due for 30k service soon so all fluids are getting changed then; car had the oil changed literally the day before i bought it. the undertray i knew was missing, i would have been amazed if the lip had come off and not taken the tray with it
any recommendations on 30k service and/or where to do it at? while i'm find doing everything for it, i dont mind coughing up ~$400 at this point to make sure everything gets done right the first time. i've been looking at this, this, and this and they have varying degrees of things done...wondering what the typical stuff done at 30k is and what it usually costs

If you want to have it done right, and inspected by the best at the same time, I suggest going down to ER to have it done. It will likely cost in the $400 - $600 range, or up, depending on where you go. The fluids alone can be $150-$200 if you DIY, and a shop will likely overcharge for those as well. 30k service is tranny, tcase, radiator, oil, rear diff, cabin filter change + other fluid check + accessory belts + general checks (brakes, boots, etc.) and of course a tire check/rotation.
