Finally Drove a 2010 SS Camaro...
Eh...its a heavy *** tuna boat. Throw back styling will have a bunch of old guys driving them trying to relive their past that can't except their mid life crisis. I'd buy a corvette and actually have something fast...
yea the SS is sitting next to a Callaway vette in the showroom right now...sounds like a no-brainer to me! haha
ill take an LS3 vette over the POS camaro anyday
and for all you ford haters,i know a few cobras that might change your mind
I always loved my SuperDuty's. They didn't have the Allison of the GM trucks or the Cummins of the Dodges, but I liked the interior and exterior, room, fit/finish so much more than either of the others (I especially can't stand the Chevy "Cavalier interior"). If the IH powerplant is good for combines then it is good for me!
Of course, both trucks had major issues within a week of buying them (new, no less) so I can't say they were the best of times...
Short of the C6, I don't see myself driving any GM vehicle. BTW - what is up with that wide open canvas staring the front passenger in the face in the new Camaro? They should include a set of watercolors with every sale.

if a ls9 powered z28 came it would prolly be in the 50-55k range, given the new cadillac cts-v has a lite version of the LS9 according to Motor Trend which I guess is a smaller supercharger and detuned some, coming in at a msrp of $60,700. Also the 50k range would make a lot of sense since that is what the new 2009 shelby gt500 msrp is about 49k base msrp.
Thats why the LS3 was "detuned" by over 30hp. Add the fact is 600lbs heavier and not even close to the handling of a C6.
I honestly haven't been a fan of any american car...except for the new C6. I almost traded the evo in for a C6...very temping for the amount of car you get. $35k-38k steps you into an 08 Z51 and with about 3-4 mods they are 430-450whp and will do 200mph and handle every bit as good as an evo imo. I looked at the camaro...was not impressed the least bit. Honestly would rather have the new GT500 if I had to choose.

Hahahahaters.
lol, you all have me ROTFLMF'nAO.
The Camaro SS is base priced to compete with an Evo X, runs faster in the 1/4 mile, weighs just a couple hundred pound more (3,800lbs vs 3,500lbs), and has a LOT more room compared to the Evo. It's a lot more car for the money. Yes, the Evo handles better, but that's because it's a smaller car and has AWD.
As for the Fords, they are kicking butt in Europe, doing something GM and Chrysler can't seem to do, appeal to a global audience on a wide scale. Oh and their Fiesta can get 65 mpg.
Mustang GT 500 = 540 hp
But whatever, keep on keepin' on.

The styling is nice, but anyone who buys a Chevy(GM) now days is a complete idiot with whats going on with that company. Dealers(MB, Porsche, Ford, etc) are already getting news letters from Corporate headquarters warning not to accept any GM products as trade
I just got rid of my SS in time
Not to mention Chevy has the worst service department in the World... No loaner cars and cant even leave the vehicle if its drivable... Sorry, but they should've went out of business a long time ago...

I am well aware of the horsepower difference of the GT500...it was an expressed opinion on my part to choose that. Not based on price, merely stating I prefer those body lines and that car in general. A fully loaded SS is going to be more than you think. I have seen the MSRP...don't let their starting out at "22k" fool you. Hell a optioned V6 is almost 30k. BMW did the same with the 135i.
I am not hating although I suppose it can easily be taken that way. I just don't like the car. I haven't liked any of the throwback styling whether it be the Mustang, GTO, Charger, Challender ect.

I had heard the Z-28 was cancelled, and GM disbanded their high performance vehicle team so I wouldn't expect any higher powered Camaros any time soon unless there's some huge surge in sales all across the board.
When did these cars get released? Because I have only seen TWO here in okc. One parked and the other driven by a 60y/o woman, both non ss. Pretty sad in my opinion for being such a highly anticipated car.
