Shep Trans... who's got one?

I'm looking into having Shep build my 5spd since my most recent shift fork failure. Would someone be interested in letting me drive their Evo and feel the shifting before I drop the monies on a new gear box? I know it's asking a bit, but I figured it was worth a shot. I'll be driving back through washington from Oregon (to Bellingham) so I can meet up literally anywhere.

Yes I'm driving the green neon

I believe Chris (hanahawaiian) has also said he has a shep tranny. You might want to PM or email him.

I tried calling you back a few times dude, I was in Yakima yesterday and moving through the deadzones out there. Anyway, we do the same exact stuff that Shep does if you didnt want to ship your tranny and wait a month and half.

I had English Racing do the shep rebuild to my transmission AND transfer case. Save yourself the headache of shipping and just go through English Racing. Top quality work.

That's my predicament. I can rebuild manual gearboxes. I've done 5 neon gear boxes, 3 CBR600F4i boxes, SRT-4's, and done several rear end changes (shimming diffs) on my dad's Dart and Cuda.

I don't know what oiling modifications Shep has done... nor what special "tricks" he uses. I've been informed that it's a basic rebuild to "new" spec with a few tweaks.

I called to find out if they use a different synchronizer material... if not, why not? And why they don't upgrade to roller tapered bearings?

I know of one "trick" to help the gear box shift better/faster, but I'm interested in what I don't know... which since he's been doing it for years and I haven't... That could be and probably is a lot.

Idk... I wanted to ride in Aarons car and feel the shifting to get a feel for the difference between the Shep and ER rebuilds...or if the difference was negligible.

Another issue is I don't have 2k to drop on the decision, so I have a lot of time to figure it out. hahaha

Pm me if you wan't a killer deal on a brand new shep trans, This is not a rebuild it was a factory new one that he did and I would be willing to sell it for the price of a rebuild just to get rid of it!!

I have one in my DSM, absolutly love it!

Welded center diff, makes daily driving a little more difficult, but works great for track days!

I have a shep tranny with the 3-4 evo 8 conversion, twin disk and love it. Next on the list is the t/c upgrade. I don't know if ER does that, if they do I'd rather go with them because I don't want the down time.
