Dude, Vtec just makes the engines get louder. (while stock, at least. I hear its tunable) I STILL had to get on the high way and merge in 2nd gear. Not cool.

We finally figured out exactly what needs to be done to get the cage up to spec for stage rally next year (big thanks to Tim for that one). Completely stripped the interior of the car today and started cleaning out all the dirt that's accumulated over the years, which is proving to be quite a task.
(By the way, for anyone who doesn't know me, I'm the driver and co-owner of the car.)

Sounds about right. The grandaddy "sports" version this was based off of (Swift GTi) probably put 100hp to the crank tops but the car was light. The Geo is proably a bit heavier to met U.S crash standards.

Group 2 is where it's at, if I got back into rally it would be in a Civic. My Golf was OK, but it's harder to make N/A power in a VW compared to a Honda. The AWD drive classes are too expensive, it's $$$ to run even a WRX, let alone an STI or EVO. And the speeds in Group 2 are fast enough to be fun, but not stupid speed like an EVO.
Where can I find the US rally regulations? Whats the equivalent of Group N here (stockish 4WD turbo car)? Thats what I will probably run in whenever I eventually go back home if i can afford it (or here if they have it).

Group N is a bit more affordable. Our WRC group is now out of the range of most drivers....people are just buying the ex-WRC cars for 500k+ and once driven properly they will take the paint off of a well setup Group A car.

I think if you're going to run NASA events, you could put a 1.3L hayabusa engine in it.

Is that because its the same manufacturer as the original so its a legal swap?

Made a lot of progress this weekend,

Cleaned a lot of the dirt out the the car the fastest way i knew how.

The best part of the weekend by far was the fact that we got the passenger side door open, now i have easy access to my side of the car.

The hood, front bumper, fenders, and doors are off right now, the rest of the chassis is almost all sanded, we hope to be preped for paint by the end of this week.

Any suggestions on color?
