They are not mod friendly.

Any dealership is not mod friendly. They'll also rob you blind too.

Should've taken it to ER.

i ve got my warranty thru national and bought the car at detroit auto works. the car was already modified cams and cam gears hks. national ended up getting me a new transfercase and drive shaft, also replaced my iac, and a couple other sensors last winter all i was liable for was my deductible of a $100 my warranty expires 2011 or 50000 more miles. so my car is covered. its just that like i said i dont wanna drive all the way to korum and wait a week or more to get my car back winters coming

I have taken my EVO to Brien Motors three times now to fix that "ticking" . Three timing belts later and now they say they don't know what is wrong. I am suprised he did not say something to you about that. The last time I talked to him a few weeks ago he said that half a dozen EVO's had been in there and they don't know what the problem is. FYI for ya.

But its a good place they have been very helpful. Its just that they don't know what the problem (the ticking from the t-belt area) is, nor does Mitsubishi know what the problem is.

I'm at 36,000miles and if the motor breaks - well its still under warranty (and no mods).

Huh, Ive been there for the same thing, they replaced my timing belt, serp belt, and serp tensioner, not fixing the problem. I just gave up and started modding the car. I'm going to get a stethescope and find it myself.

They were cool guys though, but I was stock when I went in.

My buddy's car does the same thing and Lucas looked at it and thought it was a shroud or something I think. If he sees this post I'm sure he'll chime in, however my bud's car only does it when it's cold. After it warms up it seems to go away.

Valvetrains on Evos are super noisy anyway, I wonder what you guys are talking about?

Not valves, we all know the famous 4G63 ticking valves.

They replaced that as well and it did not help.
This morning I heard it and it sounded really bad. It is really annoying.

What about the racers (Rally, Drag, etc...) out there with high horsepower? Do they know something or its just there cars are so loud anyway they don't hear it?
