FWIW I have the Forge MBC and the quality is very nice, and the ceramic ball is very responsive.

A tune is quite a gain even in stock form. With these mods it should improve the gain significantly. I would go with the hallman mbc they are of good quality, hold boost, and look nice.

Aren't you on higher octane fuel up North? I would think 25psi should be good as I know people that run higher boost than that on the **** gas they sell down here.

*edit - btw blue, I agree with everyone in getting an MBC, walbro if you don't already (may not need one, but you don't want to find that out mid-tune), and get tuned. The nice thing is that ER prices go down once you're "in the system" cause they're cool like dat. I'm assuming you'll be going to ER, anyway.

lucas was able to get 27psi max on boost during my 2nd dyno run. then he turned it down, which ended up to 23psi and left it as is on the third and final dyno. i had some boost spiking issues back then because of where i tapped my mbc i think so it wasnt a bad idea to leave some margin.

I'm on a 91 octane tune at 24.8psi with between 0 and 1 count of knock. It can be done on US spec fuel at 25psi!

Yeah im at 25 psi on 92 octane. I had I believe Aaron tune my car. We did 6 runs on the dyno to really fine tune it. He only charged me 300 dollars for 6 runs.

My first dyno run, we left boost at 15 and with the 3 things I installed. Made 246 whp. Then we upped it to 25.

^^^finished off at 309 as well

25-26psi is pretty normal. Josel on your car I think the big spike didnt make more power it only picked up a little torque. You have one of the cars that doesnt seem to need a big spike to make power, like Tommy's IX.

To be clear you can run 29-30 on 92 octane with the right combo even on a stock turbo, bigger turbos make it even easier. We tune cars to make the most each one can on whatever combo it has. Sometimes it takes 27 to get there, sometimes 25, sometimes less. The cars that take less to make the same usually have the best setups. Turbojunkie can make 390@19psi and only jumps another 43whp with 10 more psi. It does pickup ALOT of torque though

^^^ dont procrastinate!! Go to ER asap. My car felt like a minivan before I took it in.

Btw what do you guys average in MPG... Driving moderately well, I average around 250 with a couple stomps on pedals every now and then. More towards 200 when I mess around too much. I can get 320 when I push it below E.

After being tuned and while running horrible friction tires (BFG KDW2's...loud and bad mpg! :thumbdwn I get about the same mileage or a little better than stock. I make sure to run meth everytime the car drives (said: I get into it) and I consistently clear 250 with 2+ gallons left whenever I fillup (gas light goes on pretty early on this car).

I can easily clear 300 if I push it, but I don't bother. BTW - I run Costco gas most of the time, since I'm juicing.

MBC's are pretty cheap.. Your probably looking at 100+ installed.

Stock boost levels depends on what year evo. I believe 03-04 had lower stock psi than the 05+. Wasn't it like 19.4 psi then it tapers down to 17 psi?
