I have devised a seperate technique without the "official" chemicals and pads they have in the kit.

But wont spend $50 to try it out.... was trying to help all parties out.

lol - maybe not. If Eric doesn't take my VIII tails you are more than welcome to have them for free. You could paint them up like VII's.

I agree with Ryan, that's what I had to do to my tails first to get the old VHT tint off, then again to get the tint back off because it wasn't dark enough (I made sure I didn't have that problem this last time for sure!).

But I just used goo gone and a crap load of manhandling, then some 2000 wetsanding followed by plastix lens restorer.

They looked damn near brand new after that!

But hindsight, I probably shouldn't have put those last two coats on...and I aint scrubbing those things again cause it was a pain.

Lacquer thinner destroys plastic. First it smears. Scrub harder and longer and it turns it to a sticky goo. Then no amount of buffing will fix it when you have reached that point.

Then you should get a little can for Dan and Brett so they can use your lacquer thinner to take that tint off. All I have are the 3 gallon drum ones used to clean paint guns.
