Question Does anyone know this car or its previous owner ?

Is the previous owner of this MR on evolutionm ? OR does anyone know this car or previous owner ?

- I have not taken delivery on this vehicle but have signed for it.

-I want to know why they are willing to let it go for 19k with only 33k miles.

-The story goes we had taken it out for a test drive and i noticed the heat gauge pegged. The dealership took it into the shop and said it had no water, well subsequently a small radiator leak caused the car to loose all of it's water while it was sitting on the lot, and when we test drove it without any water they said we blew the head gasket.

-So it is now in the performance shop being fixed for free. So i have this dilemma, should i buy it bc we caused the damage and the car will be fine when i get it back ? Or bc this car has aftermarket parts down to the turbo it was already prone to break and may have had prior issues ? They said everything was legit before we test drove it and they think the damage was caused at that time, They claim the car was inspected by mitsu and was in excellent shape and even with mods had another 100k left on the engine.

So i am trying to find the previous owner and would like to know what was up with it before they traded it in.

Thanks

Here is the link for the car : http://www.northwestcarsandtrucks.co...rchCars=Search

RUN AWAY FROM THAT CAR!!!!

Its a 05 MR, but as you can tell missing the BBS wheels....

I was the second owner of that car, I bought it from a 30+ yr old guy that babied it and I did some mods to the car (flash, exh, gauges, swift springs) it was a great car when I had it. I sold it to a guy who used to be on here, I believe he put it into a curb and it was beat pretty bad, then from what I heard he sold it to his friend who wrecked it also. I believe it had just over 20k miles on it when I sold it over 2.5yrs ago. Theyve had it on their lot since last summer atleast, was on my way to get my windows tinted near there and spotted it and realized it was my old evo based on the plate #.

It really isn't a very good deal for $19k, even if it had the BBS wheels and was in good shape.

My friend bought it last year and had english tune it on e85 and it ran fine when he traded it in but it was still on e85, so if they put 92 in it. It could be all messed up

It was 410whp for awhile, it had 1150cc injectors in it. If it popped a headgasket its probably because they didnt really retune it and it has mega timing in it. If it was all the way out of water I'd throw it away and start over.

cliffs-negatory, buy TJ's instead.

Sorry to bump an old thread but it turns out a friend just traded his 350z for this car.. Right now it looks shady and I wish he would of told me about the car before he did it out of the blue..

Soo what are the mods done to this car right now? Clutch/rod bolts/head bolts/ect??

Any input would be nice so we can get this car back on track without damaging it more.

I was lucky to get out of this car but from all of the research i did, when i had left it.

-Damerow ford had taken it into a claimed high performance shop, the headgasket was toast, i have no clue if the head was found to be warped or not. They claimed it was fine before we test drove it so who knows how long it was driving with a blown head gasket.

-The car had been sitting on their lot with a radiator leak which they also where replacing, and i believe it had been test drove (once by me 4 sure) without water multiple times. I noticed the heat gauge pegged when driving it and oil smoke so i insisted it be checked before i took delivery, then finding more pf the below claimed possibilities i walked away from the deal the next day.

-I will look for the threads but 2 claimed wrecks on this EVO thus the BBS rims missing.

-They where running 92 oct on an e85 map was another conclusion as to it running like crap but never actually confirmed this. It was in no way near 410hp when i test drove it, it felt more like stock.

-It had it's RC injectors which i believe where 1150cc, greddy turbo oil cooler, i never got a close enough look at the compressor size but was greddy and looked fairly sizable like a 25g.

-The turbo timer was not set correctly and when the guys at the lot where driving it around they never used it.

-Claimed Stage 3 exedy clutch, felt pretty new when i drove it.

-It did not look like the head had ARP studs but this was never confirmed, and if they replaced the head gasket i doubt they replaced it with performance head studs.

-Did he get it from damerow ford or a wholesale auction ?

Thanks for the info.

He got it from the dealership, he traded in his 350z for it. He just wanted back into another evo bad thus the impulse trade (This will be his 3rd evo now).
