new owner
13k sorry to hear that. should do your research. had mitsubishi look the car over. bought my car from the next state over. the owner dropped the car off for me ( i told mitsu & the owner i would pay for it) called up. they said no worries the 100+ point inspection is free of charge. thank you for your business. told me it needed tires. brake pads soon..and there were some rock chips on the front.clutch was good. everything worked no codes. ( and i didnt even waste the 2 hour drive) drove the very next day with the cash and made a great deal. i have now put 18,000 miles on the car. did a clutch at 52,000. tires/brakes/trans/rear/center diff fluid change as soon as i bought it. so long as it wasnt beat to **** and the car was maintained. you should be fine. call/ goto your local mitsu dealer give them the vin. they will tell you more then you know(which is nothing) about the car.
;-) thanks for the input. im not too worried about what i paid for the car. i think i got a pretty good deal regardless of the issues its shown. ive wanted another one of these cars for a while and unfortunately the extent of my research for finding it has been craigslist. (kinda hard to look without much help when you live on the opposite side of the planet) ill definitely be looking into getting it to a mitsu dealer for an inspection.... especially if its free.
my friend picked up the car from the dealer last night. CEL was an O2 sensor thats now been fixed. they have no intentions of doing anything else so im thinking girodisc for the brakes and still trying to figure out what im going to do about the tires.

Tires are easy, there is everything from Evom members who work at Discount Tire to some deals on used sets in the marketplace. Always check with the community 1st. Pretty much anything and everything Evo-related that you need can be found here.
T&C mitsubishi quoted me $90 for a full inspection (the same that they do when they take in a trade) with a print out of any issues. hoping to get the car in this weekend or sometime next week.
i might have to track down one of the evom members at discount tire... :-) i was thinking about a set of those continental extremecontact DWS.

Welcome aboard! Both Perrin and Surgline are great shops. Both tune (Matt), Perrin using access port and surgeline using ecu flash and access port. Perrin also produces great parts. Honestly though, for knowledge, resourcefullness, follow through and general help English racing is it.
I don't think Surgeline does anything other than AP, do they? Tim Bailey is a really good tuner but it doesn't make any sense why you would go anywhere other than ER. Try to find ONE negative thread about them. You won't.
looks like the verdict goes to ER for the tune! im pretty sure its in need of one and even if not, a refinement couldn't hurt.
current update is...
new tires goin on monday. decided on hankook v12 evo k110 255/40 R17.
gonna take a drive to girodisc when i get home to do the brakes. still waiting for my friend to get the appointment made for the inspection at the mitsu dealer.
im getting a bit lost in the jungle of after market though lol. there's so much to consider. im gonna keep digging and searching for now and probably ask advice before too long.

i figure ill have to settle for now and take it to ER once im home (3 weeks!!!) the dealer will probably come up with a laundry list of problems just to try to get me to spend money anyway.
We arent that far away and we do inspect cars.
Perrin doesnt dyno tune customer cars that I am aware of, Surgeline uses AP only (they are part of the Cobb empire) and then tunes the car. Either way sounds spendy to me.
