I can listen to that thing go WOT all day long. And who destroyed that poor cone at 3b? Oh wow, who went flying off? Was it that supercharged black Civic that lost its brakes?

Some stupid Alfa being driven too hard. That's why we got the lecture. He was following way too close to people and then when he got a little open space he pushed too hard and off he went.

to me it seemed (from watching the video above only) that you didnt get A) very much open track and B) didnt really get to push the car hard.

Is that a function of the power level of the car and a small(ish) track that you dont really care about exit speed, or is the car sorted out so that it simply looks tame when you were actually putting your ********* to the proverbial wall.

The video from the evening day was all slow laps. The first lap on tape was the only clean one I got all night, and for whatever reason I didn't run it super fast - it was early in the first session.

But even the laps where I run faster they never look that crazy on tape. A few reasons:

- My car makes good torque down low, so I can run the corners in higher gears. This makes the car be in lower rev's and the wastegate is closed making the car quiet. So it's not until I leave the corner completely that I get into WOT and the gate opens.

- I brake early. But my entry speeds are pretty high.

- I'm still a little nervous about bombing through some sections because of the lack of run-off.

- Video makes things looks slow.

- My car driven by someone who really knows the track would be way faster.

It just looks slow on camera. Jared is fast out there and I know he is not even pushing it. It's just track day. Out to have some fun. It's not a race where you are running 10/10th's. You have to respect others out having fun on their track day. Otherwise you'll probably end up looking like that Alfa going off. With 500 horse, going like a supertard can get you and your ride into some serious trouble at Pacific.

Video from Cantrell day. My HD from the roof got corrupted. It also corrupted Adobe Premier so it doesn't work anymore. I hate video editing - it is always so fickle and hard on machines. So all that works is the mini-dv from the in-car and windows movie maker.

uploading....

Still lots of time left in the car with more wave-ooos.
