There's some horrific wreck images that have floated around company Email about people texting. There was one from Europe where a dude's body was cut literally in half at the waist... Phone still clutched in his dead hand.

People, you're in a 1.5 ton cruise missle, please give it your attention, not the 4 oz. phone in your hand.

pah, I got out of two 2nd degree Neglegent tickets in 2010. I'm sure this kid can text in his defense and get off scott free. (assuming he still has the use of his fingers)

But after i saw the pic of the driver i was relieved.
yeah I thought the same thing too. He lives like 5min away from me. The only thing that kept me from really thinkin it was him is he just dropped his car off at English a couple days ago.

I'll admit, I do text & drive sometimes, but it's usually only when I'm at stops lights. & the road is always my primary focus, even if that means typing one letter at a time. I would drop my phone before I let myself drive on the wrong side of the road, or hit the guy in front of me. I have never veared/swereved while texting/talking on the phone, nor have I ever hit anything, or even come close. Some people can multi task, most cant. If you can't handle it, don't do it. & even if you can, do it very carefully. lol. It ususally takes me 10-15 minutes to type out a single text when I'm driving because it is secondary to safe driving.

but lets be honest, this is America, it's not like there aren't people who are distracted while they eat, smoke, apply make up, & mess around with the radio while they drive. People have been distracted by minor, unimportant tasks for decades, but there aren't laws against eating a bic mac while driving. Cell phones & texting just seems to bethe latest fad, & the media's been harping on it since day 1. I'm not saying that texting has no risk what so ever, just that distracted driving is nothing new.

& I'm not saying I'm against the law either, overall I think it's a good idea. It should be quite benificial, as long as it's enforced properly. but there shouldn't be a need for the law. People should have common sense & discipline. I'm just afraid we're gonna witness the evolution of stupidity. & In a few years, idiots will just find a new way to eff things up for everyone. I wish there were a way to let people collect their Darwin's without killing everyone in sight.

& I hate to see an Evo in that shape, but c'mon, that truck is a beeeeaaaaast! lol.
