Actually, from what I've read, atleast in PA, it only bans drivers under the age of 18. I'm 20

Well I don't text and drive but at least this law doesn't pertain to me just in case there was an emergency of some sort and I had to use my phone. Its nice to know that we won't be getting pulled over.

I think this is complete BS and hypocritical. I mean, really, a cop will be driving on the phone, see someone else driving on a phone, and go pull them over. Lead by example. The law should include EVERYONE.

That's a crazy good video for it.

I do have to wonder how a cop will take it if they pull over someone for texting, yet the person was flipping through songs on their ipod or something.

Well played sir
now when u can show a video of an ACCTUAL wreck that was caused by texting i might be inclined to say it has some value but these do not. this is called propaganda and its crap! this is something made up by a company trying to get u to see thier side. no one can say that they have not done it nor would never text while driving because anyone will do it if it suits their needs. i do see some value in the law but making it a primary is going over board.

You will also start building your driving abstract which wont help you in future court dates.
i see other officers using there phone while driving too. so then that means there breaking the law as well right?

There's exemptions in the law for work use. AKA a plumber can use the phone or tow truck driver while 'on the clock'. Police would fit into this same clause.

the videos have some effect on people and on others they dont. Its fine that you dont think these videos are useful. But id like to know how you expect to see a video of an actual wreck caused by texting because I dont think anyone films themselves driving and texting so your chances of seeing an actual video are slim. I dont think the video was made because a company wants you on their side, its to help make people aware of potential consequences of texting while driving. I myself have never sent a text message while driving because it is potentially dangerous, I've always felt that way even before I saw these videos. I value my life and if I can avoid danger by leaving my phone in my pocket while driving, I'm going to do it.

^ thats true this is an real wreck because of texting! so this has some effect! really sucks to be him and i hope he's ok but i still dont think texting should be a primary or even against the law. now if u cause an accedent then its a different story and u should be sited for failure to maintain ur vehicle.

With the other thread running on this same issue, it was the driver of the truck that had no insurance or license. The kid in the Evo was legit, he was just texting when he screwed up...
