Anyone know how to install an alarm system/remote start?
OP- that's not a bad price for all that you get.
This is the one I'll be getting, incase others in the market are checking this thread. I don't think it'll be that hard to install myself, tho I do have a degree in electronics

Were you buying that alarm mostly for the auto-start or the alarm function? Sounds like a silly question but I think if you really care about getting a good install on the alarm then you should go to someone professional. That also does not mean Car Toys, Fry's, etc... because those larger chain stores won't really care how they install it in my opinion unless you know someone there.
No place does auto-start on a manual unless you know them because they don't want to be liable for you starting your car and having it continuous drive into your garage. I've heard of stories like that, it happens.

Yeah I agree foam, a local forum member gave me the info to a shop that he uses for his evo ... They will install that alarm with all features turbotimer/remotestart/alarm for 220$ and the shop will also do 15% tint for 210.
Seems pretty fair to me, the other chains wanted 250 for the alarm install even if they would do it on a manual.... and realistically i would just like it to be done right, skimping is not really something I want to do on the car.
Also he said in order to do the remote start, you have to install a bypass to make the car think the clutch is engaged, and my dad seems to be convinced that you can start the car in neutral and not depressing the clutch... I will try that when i leave for work tonight, however, I always assumed the clutch needed to be depressed for it to start regardless of the gear.
Thanks for all the posts guys
