ECU Reflash Support

I'm not taking this to a specialist to have them mess it up when i can do a perfectly good job of that on my own. I need to know how do this on my own so I can do it whenever I feel I need an adjustment and have the knowledge to do it. SO this is what I need and I would like all who have extensive reliable knowledge to please reply and tell me what I need to know. I know that this will come in handy for other do it yourselfers like me to get a good grasp on where we need to get started and what we need to do. This is my scenario please help.

I need to know how to reflash my car, and how to do it. This is going to be my first time. I know what mods are on it but not the size of the injectors and stuff like that. I need to know how to reflash my ecu, what kind of things I need to learn or teach myself, and the process of reflashing and how to get the best results. I need a detailed step by step instructions please. I have the GPS Standalone reprogrammer for the EVO8 I'm not sure what cable I have and I am going to use the version of evoscan that is not a beta just to be safe unless you guys have a better reccomendation for me. The mods on my car are: Cams, Cam gears, injectors, intake, manual boost controller (@22PSI), oversized intercooler, turbo back exhaust, skunk2 intake manifold, performance battery, lowered racing suspension, blow off, kevlar timing belt, and possibly a bigger turbo but I'm not 100% positive on that. I'm not near my car I'm in afghanistan right now so I need to know how to tell if its a stock turbo or aftermarket turbo for when I get home. Please help me.

I'm not trying to be the typical "use search" user, but seriously, go into the ECUFlash forums and research. I say that because based off of your post it doesn't sound like you have done any research on your own but you would like it gift wrapped. Anyway, best of luck, and come home safe.

First off, it is not something that anyone can just 'do'. It is not that hard, but at the same time it isn't easy. It takes a lot of reading and research to get it down, and be able to do it right.

But, to help you out, start here. I did some of the searching for you

Of flashing it or messing it up? Also having a little faith in the resources at hand and working with your tuner as a team go a long way in making sure its not messed up.

like everyone else is saying....RESEARCH!!! There are a lot of useful resources and good tips in the ECUFlash section...Tuning for power is easier then tuning for drivability so if your looking for drivability and don't have any real experience or knowledge with tuning I would say take it to a professional tuner and learn from them as you go

Reading the ECUFlash forum will be a great start, but you even before you flash you want to know the exact mods done to the car. If not you're going to burn a lot of time making changes incrementally when if you know what was the one the car you could have made the correct change from day one.

Honestly though man, IMO, just take it to Aaron. He's probably in the top 5 as most knowledgeable tuners in the country. No joke. Not only that though, he's cool as ****, and just a great guy to talk to.

I appreciate it bro, if your down we'll all go out for a cruise once I'm back. We'll just get everone together and go. But na bro I'm just lookin for some advice of where to start. I emailed the guy I bought my EVOSCAN from and he has a full manual of how to tune, tweak, and the steps for every single little detail of the ECU.
http://www.evoscan.com/technical-veh...le-efi-systems
That has everything anybody needs to know about reflashing and all the knowledge required with some shout outs to the guys who gave invaluable input and contribution . Glad to see all us Evo owners tryin to help eachother out instead of a pissing contest like some other kinda forms you get into. EVO FTW!!
