Car Serviced questions...

Does anyone know about what time is good for our cars to be serviced for the first time?? I know my brakes are probably worn thru cuz they are makin a funky noise when i come to a stop and squeek when I turn....but also when I turn my car on, it sits at about 2100 RPMS and doesnt really come down from that untill I start drivin around a bit...I am at a lil over 27,000 miles....plus I think I have somethin like an air conditiong leak to go along with it....plus member when I had that trunk leak??? well my car is still gettin moisture thru the trunk area...can ya beleive it....what a joke! It sux too cuz Im pretty sure thats not covered under warranty...Has anyone else had there car serviced? I kinda wanna know what IM going to be paying. Thanks!

The high idle is due to the colder weather. Mine rockets to around the same level until it settles down and starts to warm up. I'm wondering when a good time to service the car is too. Got a long weekend here.

I was told by a couple of people that just about every 3-6000 miles. Ya know oil change, fluids, and anything else you know of... Ummm about the trunk sorry I can't help you but the brakes should be decent depending on what kind of pads you want and if your rotors need turned or replaced. I have one really bad rotor with about an 1/8 inch gouge all the way around the back of it. That is going to cost me like $35 for a replacement. So it pretty much depends on what you want.

The car shouldn't need a "service" in the traditional sense (tune up) for 100,000 miles. regular maint should be done, well, regularly I change my plugs about every 10K miles with the good ol' NGKs. Oil changes every 3-5K depending on mood/driving.
Squeaking during turning is a little weird. . . you might want to get that looked at.

good luck girl!!

Ya....the water and trunk problem just got worse...When I got in my car today, it smelled pretty much like water mold....again! im gettin pretty freakin tired of it too...So since my oil is done everytime I need it and when anything starts to feel wrong, I take it in...The problem with my idle is that its done it ever since I bought the car in winters and summers, and it never bothered me untill my boyfriend started saying that its not right for it to rev that high for a long period of time, its almost like thats just where my idle is set....so who knows, im takin it tomorrow though...ill keep yas posted.

You should have the 36k bumper to bumper, they should fix everything for you. Except for brake pads and other wear items(clutch, etc.) The 2100 rpms seems a little high even if the car is choked to warm up. I would tell them about it to and see what they say.

I had the same thing happen on my brakes at about the same time. The guy at Walt's down in Puyallup said its normal, and it;s called a squeal indicator and it's the second in a series of three "You need to Get Off your *** and Replace Your brakes" warnings. The first is the sqeaky brakes, the second is the squeal, the third is total loss of braking ability and rear ending the car in front of you.

THe brakes should be the only thing that cost you anything. I would take it in there and demand they look at the trunk and the idle. They are covered under warranty right now(until 36k). So I would just go and do that, or speak to their service manager.

So my car has been in the shop for 2 days now, and I got the call today.... They did a grease test on the trunk and there were some spots where water COULD be leaking, then the did the smoke test where they put like high pressure smoke thing or somethin in your car, and everywere your car is leaking, smoke will billow out....so they did that and my whole entire trunk was leaking the smoke....so that fix is beyond them, now they have to send my car to a body shop and have pretty much the whole back end re-aligned since our trunks are not adjustable. Basically my ride is gonna be parked for a while. all i have to say is, RALLY IN THE RENTAL
