Need some input here! *pics*
That black Evo has a pretty well molested quarter and front fender. The front fender is pulled away from the body by about a 1/2". Trust me when I say that it looks like crap.
The quarter is rolled and pulled...I can't tell for sure if its been resprayed, but I think it has been. The Evo quarters BUCKLE very easily, especially on the gas door side.
If you search for the official wide tire thread...you can find lots of great information on how to fit wide wheels/tires.
285/30/18's on 18x9.5" wheels
You're going to rub the front bumper and the rear seam in the front wheel well. You'll also eat the inner plastic engine bay liner (once the factory fender liner is removed) You'll have to trim the rear bumper fastener so you can lower it as far as you want to. You'll need a roll center correction kit/ bump steer correct kit for sure... especially if your girlfriend is going to be driving this car. I documented the modifications pretty well in the wide tire thread. You can also play with caster (caster/camber plates) and or the Perrin PSRS kit. That will move your wheel forward and away from the weld seam. That just means you'll be closer to your oil cooler and ACD pump... and most likely have to trim your front bumper/fender attachment points. I think you're asking for some serious hacking of your Evo to fit 18x10's
I run lots of camber up front because I turn. If you run 4 degrees of camber in your Evo with a good amount of toe... you guessed it. You'll be buying lots of tires for your girlfriend... good thing you get a discount. I bought 2 sets of Hoosiers, RE11's, and some R888's last year... it gets expensive very quickly... so I ask you to rethink the logistics of what you're planning on doing.

I'm hoping that by 'molested' you know it was intentionally spaced out like that, EvoDave mod. I agree that it looks like crap though.
Side note: ninja mode, what did you do to effectively fit the 18x9.5 +22 with those tires, does it rub (assume so), and where? That is the offset of the wheels I'm running.

yeah I'm familiar with the Evo dave mod. When you roll your front fenders flat....you end up with a bit of a pooch in the same area.
The +22's will require more work in the rear. Fronts will be the same amount of work as any other 9.5"

I rolled my fronts and rears with a heat gun and a plastic faced hammer a month or so ago, and the fenders definitely deformed a bit... buuuuuut it was my first time.
I'd be interested in borrowing a fender roller... maybe clean it up a bit.

I chuckled about the "ballerness" part.
You bought and 8 and now you're swapping a 9 engine in it. Why not buy an Evo 9 if you're baller?
3 sets of volks and the car doesn't run.
I hate to be a terrible dick on the internet... but c'mon man. lol.
18x10.5's are the widest on the stock body...
but you're still limited by tire size.
18x10's are a stretch...
18x9.5 fit after you do some serious hammer work.
I wouldn't recommend anything wider than 18x9.5...those have enough issues as it is.

I did my share of searching on what fits and what's gonna require some work to avoid damaging anything on the body. Bump steer kit will be on the list along with running a safe amount of camber. I know some of you don't care for "skinny" tires but I came from a big list of euro's, that's what im into and my gf loves the wheels. I run 205/40/18's on 18x9.5's on my s4 with 3.5 degree's of camber in the front and 4 in the rear. Im doing this to the evo to please me and my gf's taste. I do take into consideration the input you guys give, I appreciate the info, but im not here to please anyone on the form. Some will like it and some will hate it, that's how it goes in this world.. I do have a share of spare new tires for my drift car not to mention the tires I plan on running on the evo. I get the dunlop dz101 tires I use at about $75 a tire and a bunch of toyo's I got for $50 a tire.
More ignorance.. What I do is no different than the people that run excessive amounts of boost and power into stock blocks, obviously not meant to handle that kind of abuse but people do it anyway.
You're trying to fit an 18 X 11 onto an AWD Evo. That's pretty darn ignorant as it is. And your GF for letting you do it is equally as ignorant.
I will agree with your second comment when it goes boom. But that has not happened yet. You got style, I'll give you that. Good luck with your build.

I wasn't insulting you. Not on purpose anyway. I'm purely typing what my head is telling me to type when I read your first post. Oh, and I did read the whole thread. A second time by the way. I think it is still dumb, but that's purely my opinion.

If you think it looks dumb that's fine! Your opinions! I consider myself pretty damn smart. I did the whole evo9 swap myself, ACL main + rod bearings, ARP head & rod bolts, cometic headgasket, GSC s2's to assure the motors strength. Pulled the old motor installing the new stuff with ZERO help from anyone. Same with my s4, my sr'd 240sx and all my other cars. If you guys think this looks dumb than that's great! I'll consider that next year when the car is featured in magizines and websites like some of the other cars ive done.
This is pretty much awesome

The rear fenders are slightly rolled, and no mod in the front. The rears rub if I have more than 2 passengers in the rear and only if I hit a big dip on the road. The car has a one finger gap all the way around, so its lowered but not slammed. The camber and toe is within factory spec. If I had gone with 255 tire or rolled the rear fenders all the way, I would not rub at all.
