Really wanting a JDM rear bumper.

...so Ive been researching around like crazy and have found some alternatives. I was wondering if anyone has had personal experience with the Bayside JDM replica bumper. Looks legit, but want some first hand experience with any kind of JDM knock off bumper. I dont wanna hear "you get what you pay for", its not about that. Its about what I can afford at this time and for an exterior part, I dont mind taking a knock off (as long as it fits and looks good).

Heres what Im looking at:

it seems like that's just the carbon center insert, not the whole bumper

there is a few threads around here that show uneven fitment on the sides. the bumper really does not match the body of the car. i would do a search for install pics VS word of mouth. imo save up for the real deal. it will be much less hassle on you and better off for the car. best of luck

Derek, that ebay auction seems to be ~$500 after shipping. Since you already have a WW, I'd recommend going to Russell at Mitsubishiparts.net. Pick it up (pretty close to you) and save some money! Take a friend with an OR driver's license, save some more!

Ouch Dan (yahu), Im part of the AS legion.

Yeah, I was thinking of just holding out. Its just that I've been wanting a JDM bumper for so damn long. I think Ill hit up Russell at MP.net and see what they can do for me.

IIDemonII, thats the bayside bumper I was looking at. Only the diffuser section is CF. I kinda like it because I kinda got a bit of a CF accent theme on my AS IX.

Yes, thats the version I want. They offer a full fiberglass, a fiberglass with CF diffuser section, and a full CF version.

Get the OEM one, I did, it fits right. the aftermarket is junk and much weaker in terms of fit and finish.

While I think the JDM rear is sexy. Too many people have it.

I'll be going with the APR rear diffuser. Thought I'd show you just incase you might like it. Looks nice and is actually functional

Is that a stock VIII/IX bumper with just diffuser? That looks pretty good.

Yeah. It only works on the USDM bumper.

It's only about $400-$500 and doesn't need to be painted (saving more $)
