Really wanting a JDM rear bumper.
which one did you get? (if you remember)..
i've been looking at getting one and seeing how they work out. was it one of the 'line-it-up-with-the-cardboard' ones, or did you get lucky and have it come pre-spaced on a sheet?

I had a replica fiberglass JDM Bumper on my GG so I can give the OP some input...
But there are some considerations you need to look at before grabbing a replica.
I got a replica for $250... the only reason I did it was because I have a friend who owns a body shop and he painted it for me practically for free... but he took extra measures to make sure the bumper would fit ok on my car. If you know anything about body work you know that Fiberglass pretty much sucks. It does not adhere paint all that well and it will crack fairly easy. Mine came out ok but if you look really closely where the edge of the bumper lined up around the edge of the car, you could see the imperfections. Paint will also likely bubble up even if someone knows what they are doing painting wise. Again... reason being is that fiberglass does not absorb paint as well as plastic.
I recommend you get a real one. Unless you know someone that can paint a knock off for cheap... get a real one. The way I see it... if you are gonna pay nearly 2/3s what a real one would cost... just GET A REAL ONE. I believe they go for $850 shipped.... and that is painted.
Now cost for a replica if you do not have a hook up with painting...
Bumper $250-$300.... paint... $250-300.... total price= $550 to 600...
Difference... $250 from a real one... and a real one will fit properly and wont give you any issues with paint. AND... a real one has a real HOOK DOOR
This was my replica painted by my friend... keep in mine... this was a friend with lots of experience painting and working with the bumper since it was my car he was working on.
OH... and as far as that diffuser looking thing that has been talked about in the last 2 pages of this thread... I'll keep comments to myself.... Just get a real JDM Bumper... there is no substitute for it... and this has been covered many times before.
