Huge Shoutout
I just wanted to take the time and personally thank Derek (D Grade) and English racing for everything they have done. English racing is a top notch shop in my book. I have asked numerous questions, sent a bazillion emails, and every time they have responded back promptly and have guided me on the right path. Not only are they very respectable business men, they are just plain chill *** dudes that are always willing to help. I have never been treated better by any shop and their communication is just astonishing for how busy they are. For as long as I am up in the northwest, they are the only shop that I will allow to touch my car. Kudos to you guys and thank you for being such a huge asset to the evo community.
I also wanted to say a big thank you to Derek for everything he has done. He has worked on my car and I can always ask him for advice. He has truly been a great friend. He is a big kind teddy bear that texts me more than my wife... LMAO I don't know how many times I have been woken up by him texting me on my days off that I get to sleep in. He is ALWAYS willing to help with anything. He has truly made my car 10xs better by him being so **** and meticulous about petty **** that really never bothered me lol Thanks again brother, I truly appreciate it.
I felt it was time to give credit where credit is due. English racing and Derek are both assets to this community. I just wanted to take the time and personally say thank you both for your time and effort. I hate waking up to go to work in the morning, but I enjoy every second I get to spend in my car because of you guys.
Once again, thank you.

Daniel

No problem buddy! I appreciate the shout out.
Seems like yesterday when I just met you and refered you to ER for future work. 20 trips to Camas/Vancouver and a couple paychecks later, I'd say you've got a damn respectable car in your garage.
Just a little side story to go along with my response. I was once in your shoes, Dan. I was once in my early 20's and BIG into cars. I didn't really know too much (speaking upon myself, not you Dan) but I knew I wanted to learn and build a respectable car that I enjoy driving everyday. When I got into DSM's in the uber early 2000's, I was in my early 20's like you and completely lost because my '93 GSX was my first non-Honda. I was extra eager to learn more about building DSM's, but I made the mistake of expecting to be spoonfed information rather than do my own research. Things like that didnt (and sometimes still) dont go well in communities. In fact ask any old school DSM'r here in WA and they'll tell you back then you woulda either been told to f**k off and go back to Hondas, or they would link you www.vfaq.com and tell you not to come back till you learned something.
Fast forward 8 years, 24 cars owned. Everything from swapped Honda EG hatches, three 1G AWD DSM's and a 2G GSX, a MKIII turbo Supra and eventually a 750whp capable MKIV Supra, to even an '88 Samurai and an '86 300ZX Turbo, all to my currently owned Evo IX and AP2 S2000. My point is that when I was your age, I wished I had a buddy or two who has been there and done that a few times with different things who had the patience and could make time to help me out with troubleshooting and installs.
Don't confuse this with a "tooting of my own horn" or a claim I know everything. NOBODY knows everything, just some know more than the average. But over the years I've been through all my cars and learned things I know now, thats one of the best parts of this hobby. You are always learning something new all the time, and half of the times its your buddies or your shop of choice that teaches you that. The other half is doing your own research.
I'll give you alot of credit as well, Daniel. You research alot and read up on stuff alot before you ask questions or buy the part. I wish I had that kind of mentality at your age because I probably would have saved some money and heartache on things that werent right for my car at the time.
Anyways, I appreciate the recognition. Always remember you got help and a place to work on your VIII only 3 blocks down the road.
Also big recognition as always to English Racing for really being the premier shop in the NW and making time for customers and the community. Without you guys, our community wouldn't be nearly as impressive as it is.

I said it before and I'll say it again. AMS could be right next door and I'd still go straight to ER. Aaron and the guys there work their asses off to get you in and out on time, and my car after 2 years of heavy track duty has never left me stranded. Grassroots at its best. I'll be down soon for my next tune.
for an honest hard working shop!

couldn't agree more. ER has gone above and beyond what I would expect from a tuning shop - Luke literally drove up a picked up my blown clutch evo and got the repairs done in record time AND even picked me up at the bus station in vancouver when I arrived there from Seattle. we are definitely fortunate to have those guys around up here in the PNW.
