Needs Help Installing Parts
I have a few parts that are in need of install, but I don't have space or the tools to do it myself. What I have are: Perrin downpipe, Invidia turbo outlet, Genorator, and some ProSport Gauges(Boost, EGT, Air/Fuel). Is there anyone local that can help resolve my problem? Or can recommend someone to install? Thanks for helping.
Those are all pretty easy to install buddy and you don't need much space. It will just take some time. Its a great learning experience, here are some tips:
-pb blaster is your best friend.
-decent ratchet set with all sockets and extensions
-tap and die set
-optional breaker bar
-drill
-Jack, jack stands
-its much easier to install your turbo outlet with the turbo off the car, and saves your radiator fins too. There are plenty of write ups to tell you how to do this.
Before you start the project, have a buddy available that can drive you to a muffler shop to get the o2 bung for your wideband gauge welded on to your perrin downpipe. The reason for this is because, you need to take off the stock dp so that you can put the perrin in its place to mark exactly where the o2 sensor will clear your undercarriage and driveshaft. You are to weld it 4 to 8 inches away from the dp flange that connects to the cat. There is a predrilled hole in the bottom of the car so you don't have to worry about drilled through the chassis. Its covered with a grommet.
The egt sensor can be run into the engine bay through another predrilled hole behind the glove box. Tap the #2 runner to get into your exhaust stream. Power the gauge using a fuse tap.
The same goes for your boost gauge, only you will use your fuel pressure regulator as a boost source.
There is a write up for every single one of these projects, you will love it. Part of the reason why you bought the car is to work on it.
The vortex generator is a peel and stick basically, you just need to remove the side trim to slide the fins it has underneath them, then pop the trim back on.

The DP and 02 housing should both come with bolts, so he should be fine there. Might need a new donut gasket though (depending on how worn the stock one is).
Also, I took my radiator out to do the 02 housing and found it to be easy. Don't know if it would be easier than pulling the turbo or not, but definitely don't do it with the radiator in there.

What is a Invidia turbo outlet? Is that an 02 housing? If so I would advice you just take it somewhere professional like English to get it done. If you don't have any tools I don't think you want to venture into taking off your turbo

/too many NOS drinksYou can get lucky with some O2 housings and not have to remove the turbo. For instance, my Megan came right off and my Muse O2 dump bolted right on (turbo side anyways, DP is another discussion).
However, I've had the pleasure (note sarcasm) of helping dscevo8 remove his old Invidia O2 housing to install a dump. I will tell you that its damn near impossible to reach a couple of the bolts/nuts squarely without risking stripping the edges of the head of the bolt/nut unless the turbo is off. The minimal clearance between the bolt holes and actual housing are very minimal, infact minimal enough to not be able to squeeze a regular socket, deep socket, swivel socket, crow foot, or a closed end wrench on.
It may have been a one case deal, but I doubt it. In any case, be prepared to have to drop the turbo to get that Invidia O2 housing on.
Hey Derek! Hope the wedding was awesome! Hope to see you around, I missed the dyno day cuz I was in new York on vacation. Fun place! To the op I personally would hold off on the o2 housing until you replace your turbo but that is just me. The intake can be done with just some wrenches, if you don't have a boost controller it is a good time to install it while the intake is off.
