What have you done to your car today?

I've seen this on a few forums, thought it could be a fun idea. If it fades out, then whatever!

Too start off, I installed my radio and bought my fluids for the engine, trans, tcase, and rear diff today!

^ nice! yeah this thread is in the evo general and evo x general forums...

anyway today, ive been trying to figure out why i have a little triangle with a (!) in it.. searching the forums ive been seeing that it means the timing chain might be stretched... which is about a $1200 fix not covered under warranty... fml

What code is it thowing? The triangle with the ! in the middle is just a service indicator, mine will come on when I need gas even. You should plug it into and OBD2 reader and get the code number and look that up.

If it is the timing chain, how come it won't be covered under warranty? You should be good as long as your car is under 60k.

this is what I have had (triangle on the top right) since I bought my car about 3k miles ago and its been on the entire time, i just thought since it wasn't an actual CEL and the car has been running perfect, it wasn''t a big deal.

And the warranty part, on the evo x forums, people have been getting denied warranty for this part... im still doing some research.

JR- you might be right about the TPMS giving the triangle light because the car had aftermarket wheels when I bought it with no TPMS in them

It's probably cause of the lack of tpms sensors. I wouldn't worry about it much. I would check to see what code it's throwing and go from there. From what I remember if the timing chain cel hits, it just says service immediately or something like that and that's all it will display.

Yeah, that's exactly what it is. I had that stupid "!" thing on too. As long as your wheel sensors are not in the a/m wheels, it will give that warning at every start up. Hold the button and it clears the lock screen, but it will still be there. Poopy.

The triangle "!" is just a warning light letting you know something is up. The actual TPMS light is the one showing on the top right corner.

sorry for the thread jack!!

thanks alot guys!! i guess i was reading in to the threads too much... it's a larger triangle with an exclamation mark that takes up the entire display that means the timing chain has an issue and i was getting it confused... nobody ever posted pictures of it lol

i was planning to call the dealership tomorrow to get a quote on a timing chain replacement too :/

the "low tire" exclamation is due to low pressure or TPMS warning in general, like Keith said. You have the top half of that light cut off in the upper right.
