RECOMMENDATION FOR 60k SERVICE

Hi,

I'm looking for some service shop recommendations to do my 60K service. I would prefer a shop in the Bellevue/Renton/Seattle Area. Is the Mitsubishi Dealer in Renton good for this type of work? Thanks!

OM

ER, but talk to TurboTim06 - he works for the Chevy dealership on 85th in Kirkland but I talked to him a while back about doing my timing belt / 60k as well.

Honestly, if you're mechanically inclined at all I'd do it yourself saves you a ****load of money. We just did the ladyfriends gaskets and timing belt / accessory belts on the honda for ~$300 + 10 hours of work (we had never done this before so had no idea what we were doing) as opposed to the $1k + a shop would have charged

Alex is right. I did my girls IX 60K and it was not hard. I had never done it before that either.

How was it? How long did it take? I'm contemplating doing mine sooner rather than later because I want to get rid of this PITA Evo9 timing belt squeak

Not too hard to do. There were two times I had problems but solved them pretty quickly (getting a pulley out and putting the timing belt on). Everything took like 12 hrs to do, but I could do it in half the time now.

There is a pretty good write up on EvoM, but they forgot to mention things (like the water pump), and they didn't touch on short cuts. Also, there are so many people on here that know there ****, and are more than willing to help.

Dealerships are always hit or miss. Redmond has West Werks (see my sig) and they did the 60k on mine and many other Evos over the past 5 years.

+1, West Werks is a good place if you don't wanna drive down to Vancouver. Francis is a good guy call him up.

ive been a tech for 8 yrs now and in those 8 years i was at and ceritifed with toyota/hyundai(same dealer), mitsubishi/suzuki(same dealer), my own shop for a year(economy went to crap 2 months after i opened). Independents. and I've now been with University Audi in Seattle for just over a year. I'd be more than happy to cut you a deal or help out if you really want to do it yourself.
