friday the 13th...you bastard...

Started today by sheering off a bolt while bolting my radiator back in, only to discover that 2 very important components to an evos success are on their last leg....

Turbo...
Transfer case...

How screwed am I? Price wise I mean. I've done some looking around...but I can't find any solid info on em. Somebody wanna point me in the right direction?

Oh, and today: motors in both front windows are dieing, and speaker in passenger side decided to blow....

Still have 6.5 hours...let's see what else I can break!

T-Case: $1000 used
Turbo: $500 for a 9 turbo

T-Case shouldn't have been a sudden thing though, you shoulda been able to hear the death-whine for a while (assuming it's that)

Try to find a pick and pull. Its probably the hardest task to do since if you total you 8-9 and dont part it out you shouldnt be driving it. But you may get lucky

That SUCKS.

What makes you think your turbo's going?

At least the rad bolt is an easy fix.

When I accelerate to get my car into boost, I've gotta push it to almost 5k before I even feel/hear any spooling. And then it makes a series of what I can only call clicks/grinds. And it doesn't push as hard as it used to.

English Racing has a bevy of spare parts from their years of working with DSMs and Evos. If they don't have it, they can get it. Best part is that you'd be assured of trouble free performance from your car thereafter.

Is it worth it just to get the TC rebuilt back to "new" because I found a local shop that will do it for 600$.

I'm pretty new to shoppin around for this stuff, so I'm not sure if thats too expensive, or a steal or average.

Any advice would help guys

If there isn't damage to the housing you can rebuild yourself and then send it off for a balance for like$130 i think when i looked at getting mine rebuilt.

I bought a used ACD transfer case off the forums for 600 shipped. It's been in my car for a year now, no issues. That's what I'd do. You can swap it in in a day, and have a perfectly drivable car. Worry about the turbo later.

If it's a reputable shoP I'd rather spend the same money to rebuild the TC to new than buy a used one
