Know anything about this Evo?

Hey everyone it's been a while since I have posted here but I have a friend who is looking into purchasing an evo and I was wondering if any of you knew anything about this particular car. Here is the link to the page.

I agree with both of you. The wheels are hideous, the rollcage is a terrible idea for a dd, hoodscoop should be destroyed and some of the other things need to go as well. I think he just wanted to know the history if possible.

Why is the cage such a bad idea? I don't have one, just curious, mine sees the track enough to need it, but I street drive mine as well.

For me getting in and out with that bar in the way would become old very quick. I just don't track my car enough (couple times a year) to really need something like that.

A cage in a street driven car is a bad idea because in an accident, your head can hit the bar and do some serious damage to your soft squishy brain. On a race track, you'd be wearing a helmet.

Some cage designs are acceptable for street use, but anything that comes anywhere near your head should be avoided unless you're extremely careful about placement.

EDIT: I asked an Evo owner from Oregon if he knew the car and his response was:

but nope never seen that vile ride before
pretty bad though
it it does look like a town and country job though
that dealership was known to do some tacky ****

Yeah the whole squishy brain part probably is more important than what I said haha I wasn't really thinking about that. But thank you for looking into it for me!

Pay Aaron @ English some money and I'm sure he'll be able to track down who owned it and what they had done. or just call!

also look at the dash. that thing has been badly abused from putting the cage in. top portion of the dash doesn't meet all the way through, hvac system has been destroyed, etc., etc
