Unhappy Sacrifice of mRVRsport

Hey guys and gals... I didn't mean to make you all feel ignored or to leave you in the dark, the pass couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, my wife and I were in a severe wreck - Our '13 Mitsu O.Sport was rear ended by another SUV.
Thank God, both of us are still alive.

... Not sure if the same can be said of our O.Sport

This is what hit us

Story? Police Report? Give us details! You should salvage as much as you can like the headlights, dome lights, bulbs, shifter, buttons!

It's an on going case... so,

All I can say about the incident was we were stopped behind a line of waiting vehicles on the expressway and the driver of the other SUV was not paying attention and failed to slow-down/stop until after the collision. (NOTE: Posted speed limit 70MPH, so you can imagine the force of the strike...)

There was a highway patrol trooper at the scene afterwards (so, yes there is a police report). We are in the process of trying to obtain video(s)

I may just have to invest in such a cam for our future vehicle!
Do you mind sharing the brand/model of your system? Links??

Sorry to hear what happened. Hope all is well. Get a lawyer and get paid.

I'll post more info later, but look into BlackVu dash cams. I have one that records in HD and it's awesome.

mRVR, glad you guys are ok! I assume it will be totaled? That really sucks... Fyi, like someone else said, salvage as much as you can, those projector headlights alone will catch a few hundred dollars and the HID bulbs and ballasts are worth over one hundred.

Any thoughts on what's next?

Glad you both are ok. Cars can always be replaced, people can't.

Yeah, finding a lawyer that's not going to take 45-55% of the settlement is the tricky/hard part.

Their insurance told us "... no problem. I'm here to help you get it repaired."
I'm not sure if they saw the interior and underside-frame damage. It is horrid.

I don't think I want to look at our vehicle in that condition again, it reminds me of the bad event too much.

Not exactly certain on our next step... vehicle wise.
We're debating on this quite a bit.

If they don't total your vehicle, make sure you sue for diminished value and you should go to a personal injury lawyer. They will help you start a medical claim against the other driver's insurance. You will most likely get a nice little settlement for personal injury.

I think you mean IF he is even injured. mRVR seems like a pretty nice guy, not the type to get involved with frivolous lawsuits.

Yeah, this should be an open and shut case for insurance. It's pretty obvious you didn't back into her car at 70 MPH lol.

As for the camera, It's a BlackVue <-- notice the "e" that I forgot about, and the model I have is the DR400G-HD. It's small and compact, records in 1080p, has GPS built in, has a video out port to view footage, records to a MicroSD card, and also has a "parking mode" so if someone bumps your car in the lot it will record their plate (if it can see it, obviously).

Here is the BEST source of info that I've found for it: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/merge...hread-1147913/
