Hello fellow Outlander Sport Enthusiasts
I've been hangin' out in this section for a month or so and like the small community we have so far. Seems like most of us are feeding of each other on what little mods they have to offer on our models.
Small history, on our Outlander Sport is that we've always liked the Laguna Blue color and I've always personally liked the panoramic glass roof. The first time we saw one was last year. When I found out the model was going for $27,000ish new, and a new design was coming out for 2013, we decided to hold off. It was still a "want" and not a "need."
Well, no offense to the '13 owners, but I didn't like the black trim on the bottom, the rear bumper bicycle reflectors, and the fog light fascia in the front. So we waited until we found a 2012/2011 SE Model in Laguna Blue and a panoramic glass with under 10,000 miles and under $20,000. I just couldn't see myself paying +$26,000 on a brand new car again, when someone else can take the hit in a few months and have the same car for $7000 less.
So I found our 2012 Sport SE in Melbourne, FL, which is 3 hours south of our house. We left the dealership with the remainder of the factory manufacturer's warranty, price of $18,995, with no money down, and definitely no trade in. It was a single owner, non-smoker and had 10,448 miles when we drove it off the lot. It came with the OEM roof racks, OEM floor mats still unopened from the plastic cover, and some hideous side moldings.

For the record, I have ZERO intentions on making this car fast. I mean seriously 148hp? What's that dyno'd? 121whp to the wheels? I would have just bought an EVO X and not wasted time. We wanted a car that we absolutely could care less about putting miles on. We have plenty of cars enough to go around that aren't slow. I've had my DSM since new from the dealership floor and we got my fiancee's DSM with very low miles as well. We cringe how many miles we put on both of them daily driving everyday to work. The Galant VR-4 will be done probably next year from it's full restoration and build.

I won't even buy a radar detector for it. The very first thing I did was clay-bar the front end and mirrors, and had the premium 3M clear bra installed because OEM Mitsubishi's paint are so thin. It covers the entire bumper, part of the fenders, part of the hood, and both mirrors.

Shortly after I had remote start installed. With black interior living in Florida, it's a must to have the A/C running for 10 minutes before getting in.
Next, I had the windows tinted. The entire front windshield is 15%, front windows at 5%, and the rest covered in 15% to match the front windows evenly.

This week, I'm addressing the audio department and will be installing a Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH. We'll continue to have XM Radio, since we live off our XM radio, as well as our navigation living in the largest city in the U.S. (geographical wise). Today I ran the wiring for the Pioneer ND-BC6 rear-view camera because I just can't get used to the OEM camera in the rear-view mirror. I'll swap out the rest of the speakers with Pioneer in time. (The other three Mitsubishi's are completely Pioneer equipped)
I'll be looking into 3000K HID's for the foglights probably next month, as it's something pretty cheap to do and functional.
Not sure how much longer I can wait to lower this car, but I'm considering air ride if I don't see a setup I like. It's actually the whole reason I started following this section. I'm trying to find a nice reputable suspension setup, and so far I've seen two examples.
Last, I'll invest on a set of 20" wheels. I'm really wanting to stick to a square setup, instead of a staggered set. I cringe when I hear, "stance or stretched" because that's far from what my taste is. I just like clean and proportionate. I would really like another set of Volk Racing wheels to match the rest of the Mitsubishi's, but I'm really really liking Vossen wheels. We'll see.

I have the 2013 LE in pearl white. Nor fosgate and no moonroof (bummer). The leather is okay though. Ive already installed components in front amd rear and a bazooka tube. Ordered 100 bucks worth of plasti dip (black for hoodtreatment amd grill, white for mirrors and front and rear lip spoilers with pearlizer and anthracite for wheels). About to add a pioneer dvd or gps head u it or the new kenwood with wifi. Takeda and spri t booster are next.

Huh? No. That's how you apply window tint. You measure and cut from the outside and apply and install inside the windows. That's not me in the picture either. That's my buddy. Haha!

The first time I'd ever seen a window tint install, I freaked out too. It all makes sense when you watch them do their magic.

Love the write up. I almost went with this color on the 2013 model; until it ran out of gas pulling out of the dealership on a test drive. I took it as a sign to reevaluate the features i was opting out on. lol.
Also love the windshield tinted; i really want to do mine but have already been pulled over for the exhaust twice by good ol NYPD. Thankful no tickets, just a "warning".
Found this pic when i was contemplating an OS back in April and was going to be the inspiration for mine. The color is just so vibrant and would work well with some carbon fiber.
truly thank you for sharing.

Installing tint on the outside has its merits!
It offers better direct UV protection AND prevents your glass from any light hail and/or "blast" damage. Plus, it's MUCH easier to remove once it starts to "age and start bubbling"...
See if you can get your hands on some 3M Ultra series film (S400)
Damn.. THAT is one slammed O.Sport!
Is that computer generated?

Yes the creator stated it was photoshop'ed on instagram. But would be quite the 1 of 1 if it can be created. lol.

The picture you posted is pretty realistic in goals. It actually opened my eyes in something different. I've never been a fan of carbon fiber hoods, BUT I've always been a fan of the "black top theme." Even though it's a picture design, I think in the future, I'll have the roof, mirrors, and everything above the belt-line of the window trim - up wrapped in carbon fiber. So imagine everything level from the window line in carbon fiber, and everything below Laguna Blue. The hood will stay the OEM color. I also am not blackening out the front section in the front bumper everyone seems to love to black out.
This is what wrapped carbon looks like on my DSM...

I think it'll compliment the panoramic glass from above.
The suspension would definitely be air ride, and maybe get away with a coilover setup to get it to look like the picture or have wheels tuck like they have it. Again, pretty realistic with air ride, and who knows...maybe a coilover setup will come around by the time I get to that purchase.
Wheel-wise, I think black wheels only look good on certain cars, and can't see myself going that route. I think black wheels take away from the "pop" the wheels should give to the eye. I've been researching a LOT on concave wheels, and would like a nice set of Volk Racing wheels, Vossen, or at least Rohana wheels. I prefer forged wheels but that's me. Don't be surprised if I try to mimic the picture, or make ours look even better.

It's funny reading my goals June of last year. I finally had the opportunity to install the Kido Racing coilover setup.
Here's a picture almost a year ago in April when we first got her...

And today after I washed Dory...

Measurement-wise, I went with a safe 5" from the bottom of the fender to the top of the center of the rim on both front and rear.
