2011 OS intake.. Which?

I have a 2011 OS SE AWD.... Looking to pick up an intake system., been doing some research and came up with a few options.

Takeda
Injen
K&N drop in filter

The injen and takeda ones are around $225
Is this the correct model?

http://roadracemotorsports.com/store...oducts_id=1066

Or should I just get this one?

http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/s...roducts_id=789

I noticed that the first one seems to have a box blocking the heat and an inlet for cold air to get to? Is there something that attaches to that inlet?

Thanks

The stock snorkel attaches to the inlet on the heatshield. For the price you might as well just stick with Takeda or Greddy.

Here is a write up on mine: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/11045916-post55.html

Yes it will fit 2011. You might even luck out and not have to deal with the bracket solution like I did.

get the Ralli Art Snorkel off of the stock lancer Ralli art, it is a ton bigger and it does make a difference. you will have to trim the front about 1.5" but it will fit nice.

2011 airbox + drop-in filter = best bang-for-your-buck.

The Takeda is nice, but I'm no longer convinced it's worth an extra $150+ over the K&N (or other high-flow drop-in filter).

Is that so..?

Well, I was about to shell out $225 for a set of those Takeda intakes.
I might just hold off a bit longer and see if a K&N drop-in comes along (for our 2013's) sometimes soon.

Anyone else think this way? Or actually tried the K&N and the takeda or similar intake system?

Are there any dyno stats on the K&N drop in filter to compare tint the takeda?

You are lucky.. That you have a '11.
Because YOU can get a K&N filter that WILL fit. For those of us with newer 2013+, we CAN NOT get an aftermarket "drop-in" no matter what.. at this point, because Mitsu changed the airbox design!!

Nobody has produced a "performance" filter for our vehicles that 'we' know of.

I'll do a more detailed write up later, but most of my issue with the Takeda is cold weather related. With the arctic temps we're experiencing it doesn't seem like the engine is enjoying the excess icy air. In the summer, I was very happy with it. For those of you down south, it might be a better idea than those of us up north.

That's interesting.... It just might be all cars right now with the temps being the way they are.... My previous cars ive always had a short ram intake... injen or AEM.... Had no problems and experience a little bit more throttle response....

Not expecting spectacular gains but just a little low end power and throttle response is what im aiming for.and plus the sound is nice. :-)
