This topic has been discussed in detail before..
Generally it does not.
But, it depends on how extreme you modify/upgrade >
We have a member who wasn't afraid to "shave" off some of the metal (aluminum) off their engine block just to get a performance crank pulley to fit, so I guess THAT would sort of void the warranty alittle...

This has been discussed in great detail in the past. I will say that a SIMPLE search on the Forum would show this but I shall explain this in the simplist of ways.
Unless the performance part is linked to or a direct cause of the failure ofsaid part in question then it can void your warranty BLAH BLAH BLAH (insert ref. to Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act HERE).Mitsubishi North America will ultimately decide.
Example 1: if you install a Cold Air Intake (CAI) and you drive through deepstanding water and your intake becomes a STRAW and you SUCK UP the evilstanding water into your engine and your engine decides to shoot its internalparts in every direction because one of your piston heads decided it would muchrather not be attached to its respective connecting rod then your warranty willbe void because your CAI was a direct cause of your catastrophic enginefailure.
Example 2: if you install a Cold Air Intake (CAI) and your McPherson Strutseal fails on your driver side then they will replace your McPherson Strutunder warranty because your CAI was not a direct cause of your McPherson Strutseal breaking.

Hell, yeah. I ground that crap off without a hesitation.
Pulley was worth the effort. The new blocks, (13's & up) have an extra rib area that's nothing more than a total waste. I don't think they can prove an engine failure for the grinding, BUT,,,,,,,,,, they might make a case for the pulley. Then again, as easy as it was to put on, I could change it out too. (kept the stocker just in case)
Most times (and dealers have told me this) they will not warrantee the part you put on. (Duh) Could they argue that a CAI or exhaust gave you too much power and you blew the trans???? Not likely. Just make sure things are installed correctly.
Heck some dealers will warrantee it all if they approve of the supplier and install the parts them selves.
anything that that a car manufacture makes as a performance aftermarket part will not void your warranty and I believe too there was a recent law suit won that now states any similar aftermarket parts not made by the car manufacturer will not void the warranty as well. The info is posted on the site somewhere I remember reading through all of it...
I know I'm probably being paranoid, but this was just what i was going to post about. I installed the Short Ram Intake a month ago, and the car ran fine. Now at idle its rough, and my check engine light is on. I'm assuming it may be related to the Short Ram Intake. I did do a search of the forum and didn't find anything specific about this, maybe i missed it. Sooo do i need to remove the parts before I take it in to find out what the check engine light is about?

And/or,
You can do some basic diagnostics -
1. Check to make sure the MAF (and its connector) are on securely, No air leaks.
2. Make sure the intake tube is clamp down properly (did it work itself loose?)
3. Is the air filter element still on tightly?
If everything check out with the CAI... but, CEL still on, then you can re-install the OEM intake and see if that fixes the errors/problem...
^
This way at least you're back to Stock configuration and ready to take it back to the dealer.
Keep us posted!

I would have to agree. Bad connection on the MAF, OR,,,,, perhaps at the 02 sensor.
Not bashing the makers of the Mitsu's exhaust provider, but I know for a FACT that there are a FEW manufacturers of cats and sensors that are sub par at best.
reason being is the trend in car purchases VS. length of warranty.
The Mitsu's whole system is pretty much something you'd expect to see on a car from Albania.

By the way, what car from Albania? Ever been? The most popular car I saw there was Mercedes...

It will be very useful to you as reference. Just in case the dealer tells you something completely different or Nothing at all - (by saying "we didn't find anything wrong..." yada yada speech.)
For Haven07 - (regional problem?? with cold air intakes?)
One other member of our forum (in Chicago?) has similar intake AND has experienced some bogging/lost of power due to cold(er) weather, not sure if you're in the same situation for the past 2 months... leading up to your CEL issues.
Possible??

would any one try this turbo upgrade kit.http://roadracemotorsports.com/store...roducts_id=286
its made for a lancer 2.0 CVT. it even states that it would need an upgraded transmision cooler making the upgrade about 5k. i would just like to know it it would be a good idea knowing the cvt may give out.

So in short, not babbling nonsense, read your posts and responded as it became tiresome to read, much like our actual exchange. Simple as that.
