2016 Model Year?

Looking to possibly trade into an Outlander Sport, primarily for the styling and fuel economy. Would like to do this relatively soon, but since it's pretty late in the year, anyone know about when the 2016 Model Year car will be released? Early next year, or more like mid-year? What kinds of changes/updates might we see in the 2016 as opposed to the 2015?

Okay, so how about mods on the current cars?

I see that some engine/performance mods are possible to up the HP a bit, but what about body mods? Anyone make a small lift kit (maybe 1 inch), wheel spacers, airbags, underbody skid plates?

Also, besides lighter weight wheels, are there any other lightweight parts available that would increase performance/mpg while maintaining durability?

First of all.. Welcome to the forum I.T.

Your original question about what/when 2016's O.Sports are arriving and what they will have is still up in the air. None of our members work for Mitsu Corporate, so we will not have any direct answers to that inquiry.

HOWEVER, I do have this > https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ou...sport-rvr.html

Most of your other questions about body mods have been discussed.
You can start from the beginning here > https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ou...port-mods.html

or, just use the Search function.

Regarding Best MPGs, well I think I have that one covered pretty thoroughly here in my thread > https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ou...rt-se-4wd.html

Key bullet points are:
1. Break-in the CVT properly** (along with the engine)
2. Maintain good tire pressure
3. Take it easy on the gas pedal
4. Optional - chunk the spare to save some weight

When you say durability, I'll take it as keeping it within warranty... since it'll be a brand new car and it comes with 10 years from factory.
You don't want to do anything too drastic to void that kind of coverage.

**Usually around the 3,500 miles mark.

Thank you, really appreciate the help!

Where did you buy yours? Planning on test driving tomorrow, but there seem to be several dealers in the DFW area to choose from.

I've mainly been interested in the 2015 model as they say it gets better mpg and is supposedly a little more responsive behind the pedal. But since it seems to have the same engine and CTV as before, was this just a software update? And if so, does anyone know if the update could be applied to the earlier models?

New Engine! - Automobile Mag

I am now legitamently torn on buying a 13-14 now and modding for more power (lightweight pulley and SRI), or waiting for the new 2.4 engine to be released.

Okay.. interesting little tidbit.
That's good news.
Bet prices will drop for the 14-15 inventories.

But, I'm sure there'll be a price jump for that 2.4L (similar to what Mazda did when they went from a 2.0 to a 2.5L in their CX-5s.)
