Talk about a hard freeze.
Guess we finally got a taste of what you guys & gals have been having up north.
Went from 57 to 15° in two hours here in Dallas.
Have about an inch of ice from all the sleet and now we're getting a nice warm blanket of snow on top of that.
Stay warm & be safe.

Slightly off topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread for a simple question.
How does the warranty work on the factory OS tires? Got a flat yesterday with only 8K miles. Not sure what caused it, possibly pot hole, who knows. Would this be covered? I know it wouldn't be covered by the Mitsu warranty but I do remember seeing a paper with the owners manuals and such that was about the tire warranty.

We drove over a medium size nail awhile back, so I thought just take it to our dealership and have them patch it up...
Got a lot of moo-ing & haw-ing about how the thing was "so close" to the sidewall and they can't plug it... "BUT, we can sell you a new tire for $225"
Then the service advisor (who I know well) "suggested to take it to a local tire shop, they might be able to help." - 'cough' discount tire 'cough'
Yes, okay, whatever.
Drove down the street and had our trusty Discount Tire look at it > They dismounted the wheel, remove the tire, patch the hole from inside, remounted the tire, air it up AND balanced the wheel - All within 30 minutes while I was waiting & having some of their coffee.
All for a 'Thank you, please come again.'
Talk about Exceptional customer service.
We're coming up to 35K miles mark, and I'm definitely going to be revisiting them for four new tires.
I kind of figured that would be the case. I didn't even bother calling the dealer because I knew they wouldn't have a clue and I'd just get a run around.
Unfortunately the tire was ruined. I took it to my local shop (family friend), I believe he said it was only about $150 for the Nexen tire like what's on it. Unfortunately it would've taken him a day to get it. I opted for 2 new mastercrafts because he said the mastercraft tread pattern would perform better in the snow. Now I'll simply have a spare Nexen with 8K miles on it in case one of the other 2 blow or get a hole. Ugh.
