Really?
That's concerning..
How did they diagnose it to be that?

I had one morning of a no start and a electrical system fault show up.
1. performed normal start procedure
2. long crank +4 second crank
3. OSS light blinked from green to flashing Amber
4. electrical system fault on OBD
5. Brake pedal had no play/stiff pedal

ended up bypassing it with my remote start and everything's was fine
went to dealership and had fault code stored
turned out the OSS module connecting to the ECU had faulty connections in the module itself. They deemed replacement needed covered under warranty

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the OSS module. I should know this, but can't think of it.

Output Speed Sensor

Correction: OSS (one-touch start system)

And no worries, it's a pretty uncommon initialism.

Thanks to mRVRsport for the correction. Although OSS can mean Output Speed Sensor in certain contexts, it's much more likely the push-button start system here.

Well I noticed my cvt isn't stuttering anymore. So I think it was breaking in. The only thing is I am unsure of when to do my first oil change I'm just about 1000 miles and I got the car with 4 miles on it...

Oh..
Thanks for the clarification and diagnosis.
Something to keep in mind, IF it ever happens to us.

Appreciate you sharing the info and glad you got it fixed.

Is that what it stands for..?
I was thinking more along the lines of > "Operator Start/Stop".

This topic been discussed in detail before.
Basically, you should let the factory oil do it's thing til say ~7,000 (max. 7,500 - Don't exceed this mileage) then let the dealer change the oil for you (with full synthetic 0W20)

If you want more Details, read here>

My apologies, you are correct - post updated. Per the manual:
OSS (one-touch start system)

Mine is still stuttering, it did it so bad the other day pulling away from a stop light that i had to let off of the throttle.. it honesty felt like something was going to break if i would have kept going. there is no way that this is normal operation of the CVT. Back to the dealership next Monday i go...

The problem is, is that there is no CEL coming on or anything like that.

I also have a 2015 os 2.0. I have not had any of the issues that you have had with the cvt. Only on one occasion did it seem like i temporarily lost power leaving a red light. almost like it was in neuatral for a second then it took of. I have 2k miles on mine

not sure if this is the "stuttering" that people are describing, but its very touchy pulling away from a stop. you almost have to make an effort to not give it too much throttle, or its like a mild "launch".

it only has like 25 miles on it, so hopefully it breaks in a little.

That's strange..
Haven't really heard of this phenomenon in any of the 2011-13 models.

Any way you can video this (or a passenger) to illustrate the occurrence?

It shouldn't be doing this. Especially from a brand new vehicle.

Note-
The CVT seems to break-in at about 1,700 miles, but that's only effecting the MPGs as far as I've heard/experienced.

Nothing to video really, its just a light gas pedal I guess. Just need some time to get used to it. Kinda like the first time I drove my grandfather's Chevelle - that thing had a touchy gas pedal. I lit up the tires pulling out of a parking spot.

I hope I don't have a major issue, but I noticed this evening that the O.S. had a slight antifreeze smell. I popped the hood and noticed a some antifreeze had com out the cap of the overflow reservoir. Upon further inspection I noticed the reservoir was pretty full with antifreeze, a few inches above the full line. However, the vehicle was up to temp. and neither the full or low lines indicated if it should be checked in a hot or cold state.
I feel like the antifreeze was pretty dark in color but I never paid attention to the color when it was first purchased so it may be ok.
Can someone verify how full their antifreeze overflow reservoir is when at operating temp. and what color their antifreeze is? Pics would be great too.
Hopefully I'm not getting oil in the antifreeze somehow.

I'd say our antifreeze from the factory is dark greenish blue.

Our coolant level pretty much stays at or just shy of the full mark. It's never gone above it (... well at least not the times I've checked it. Usually after it's been parked in the garage a few hours. Who knows if it goes up pass it during Texas Summers.)

You can always have the dealer check it out.
