2015 OS SE airbag service message

I was installing a sub in my 2015 OS and when I finished I got the airbag service message. Is this a dealer only fix? The only thing I did is that when I took out the head unit cover I had to unplugged the airbag warning light plug form the cover. Then I had to move the car before it started to rain an turned it on with that cable unplugged. Is the dealer going to charge me and ask a lot of questions. I am also worried about the warranty. Any information

Play dumb. Its under warranty. If your work is pretty well hidden and they have no reason to think you were screwing around with the airbag wiring they will probably wipe it and youll be on your way. Its a simple task for the dealer to do. Just state that you unhooked the battery and the light is now on. Your warranty is fine. If you do a search about warranties on here i think texastravisity or one of the other guys posted the laws. Its for modding and voiding warranty

Thank you for the information. Should I unplug the sub and take it out before taking it to the dealer? Its a powered sub and I put it under the passenger seat. I have to hide the wires well. My worry is that they see it and find out I messed around with wires.

Thank you for your reply and the information. You were right. It took them not even ten minutes to reset the message. They were busy so they didn't care and just asked me if I disconected the battery. I told them yes. So they just reset it without checking.

glad you got it fixed. Just remember to always play dumb unless its a time that you need to tell them what happened. If its simple its easier for them to just do it to get you out of there than arguing. And if you tell them too much they might find an excuse to not do it cause a lot of places are to lazy to service what they sell.
