Normally you can just remove the module from the front of the center console and no light.
Just remember that it is illegal to remove the air bag and if you were in an accident yout insurance co. would not be too happy with you. I would imagine the Evo airbag would work with the RA module, they are probably the same thing.

I believe you can just plug a fuse into wire where you disconnect it from the air bag.
If you are going to unplug the air bag you must disconnect positive side of battery
first and waite 2 min . Air bag system can hold a charge for over a minute. Please
understand you must be careful mechanics have been killed and hurt by air bags
going off while there heads and or faces were close.Once you disconnect the battery
and disconnect the air bag, plug a 15 amp fuse into the end that was pluged into the
air bag. Make sure you secure it with a wire tey and tape ,if it falls out when the battery
is connected it will throw a cel.The SRS light willcome on and only Mits dealer can turn
it for about 50 dollars. Lots of luck and be careful.

thanks for the very helpful info

you guys have made me very weary of replacing my wheel w/ one with no airbag, i very vaguely remember someone saying something about airbags being restuffed into their wheels by trained professionals, any idea how much this would cost? i think i may do this before installing it on my car

i remember hearing something about airbags being really expensive and difficult to repair or replace, something like 700 bucks. it really sounds like this is a bad idea. too bad its a nice wheel
