Rockford Fosgate iPod fun
If I would have known how crappy the RF system handles iPods, I most definitely would have skipped that option. Its a good sounding system, and I really didnt want to do an install on the wife's car, but c'mon, the controls are like something from the late 90's.
It takes way too long to "read" the iPod before you can even select a playlist, and the next time you get in the car, you have to choose that playlist again. this is a 4th gen touch. Will try an older "classic" iPod to see if thst works any better or worse ....
Emailed Rockford Fosgate to see if theres a software or firmware update or something.

The system notices that something has changed but there is no mayor change in the file folder structure. To avoid this, every time you add new songs rename the playlist or if you use USB stick rename some file folders. If you follow this the system will find and play your last song after every start.

I cannot confirm whether this slightly more complicated solution works but it yields to the same end as my suggestion above: the system has to read your files from scratch.

I use the BT setting for my phone on the RF system in my car and have had no issues, if I cut the car off in BT mode the next time I get back in it picks up at the begging of the playlist I last played, not the next song, but I can live with that. I have not tried my ipod on it though, sounds frustrating.
