I've got a set of snow tires for the RVR - mounted on black steel rims. I can pick up a set of very nice condition 1997 (yes, 1997!) Eclipse rims for about $130 USD. Centre caps included. Their specs match but are they too old?

They look like
Any thoughts??
they're going to get beat up in the snow with salt and muck. those are decent-looking and seem to be easy to clean. as long as they fit, why not?
Hmmmm... that will make it interesting. Private seller might not want to let me swap rims in his driveway. Anyone know of another way?
can't think of any - it shouldn't be too much to ask to make sure they fit before you purchase.
i bought wheels to use for snow tires from a major retailer (NTB) that were *supposed* to fit the Evo X, but there was no way they would clear the brakes. i told them they needed to change their catalog listing.
Just like you I also got tired of looking at the steel wheel+hub cap combo for the 5-6 winter months a year. I purchased and have installed a similar spec set of wheels as yours (for $150 Canadian off Kijiji). This was originally designed for the 03-06 Ralliart and just like yours has 16 x 6 size (yes, it is 0.5" narrower than the stock 16 x 6.5 wheel but is safe to mount).
If anyone is looking for OEM wheels for winter tires I have collected some info with pictures to identify the design and specs and I attach the files here. I am not entirely certain of the "J" designations for all versions.
You may want to use this website to make sure that the wheel/tire combo fits (the opening page contains the comparison for CottageLifer's and my wheel/tire but you can type in your selection): http://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whee...=30mm&scl=50mm
