Airbag sensor issue

Had a passenger seat airbag sensor fault. Took it in and they repaired it. Took about 2 weeks for the part to come in. Anyone else experience this? 2015 RVR 2.4L btw.

Stuff happens. Be thankful you do not own a 13-15 Nissan Pathfinder where the passenger classification system rarely works, and when it appears to, you aren't certain if the airbag will or won't go off.

my other car, 2013 nissan sentra, always has the passenger airbag problem. If you sit wrong or to one side it will not recognize someone is there and turn off the bag. you have to literally restart the car for it to work correctly. It is so frustrating and dangerous. and Nissan will not do anything about it.

Geesus.. Are you serious!
I think the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration needs to hear from you.
Send NHTSA a letter** about that major issue/concern and post a copy to Nissan North America Corporate.

I would be Furious if my family have to ride in a defective vehicle with THAT kind of safety problem!

- Did you buy it brand new or used? Was there no recalls on that problem?

** Better yet just make a quick video and post it on Facebook/Reddit/Youtube.

2013 Nissan Sentra SR purchased new 11/2012.
it had a airbag recall- where they were going to reprogram it. It made no difference. still has the same issue. Took it back to nissan and they said that there was nothing they could do..
also the car used to stall at red lights and stop signs. - that recall was fixed with a reprogram as well.
Now the car is out of warranty and ive given up.

Hold on a sec...
"out of warranties" is irrelevant if/when it involves a Safety component - such as proper airbag Activation.

Just take a look at Chrysler/Dodge with their Forced Recalls (back around June 2015) to fix faulty ignition switches that can negate airbag activation in 700,000 vehicles (made between 2008-2010).

I'm sure all those vehicles are out of warranties too.

So, with all the spotlight on these kinds of safety recalls and such, it's the best time to write a letter or make a video about these serious concerns and make it known. That should get the ball rolling and have your Nissan fixed at least.

That Nissan thing is simply not getting TC or NHTSA's attention. I guess because Nissan keeps reprogramming the OCS (occupant sensor). It will likely take some deaths and a class action suit for a final fix.
