So this weekend after putting exhaust on the new Jeep, I was going to get the RRM aluminum pulley put on the Big O. Got everything out, set the jack up, and went to get the lug nuts off. Guess what didn't make it with my Outlander when I took possession???? yep,,, the lug key...
I remember filling out the card for it and sending it in registering the key was mine and if I needed a new spare could get one ordered, but I never actually seen the key anywhere. Searched "everywhere" for it, even got a magnet and tried seeing if it fell into the cavity where the lug wrench goes. NO luck. So now I'm going to have to get a key before I can get the pulley put on.
Damn, luck has NOT been with me lately on getting things done on this.

I have to wonder if locks are even worth it these days? Back when, alloy custom wheels were rare. now it seems everyone has them. Do wheels still get stolen?

Seems pretty rare that OEM wheels of an SUV would get taken. I know some Jeep stuff and things like Vette, Camaro, Caddy, or CTS Wheels I know have been targeted. but for the most part, I don't really think thugs are gonna be pimpin' their ride with Mitsubishi wheels. (even if the new 16's do look pretty sweet IMO)
Luckily I've got some spares that should work when they get them off.
Dealer's got a master key set, so I'm gonna drop by there and see what key # takes them off. Then they'll order me a new one. Got to talking with my sales person today about it, and he and I both realized we never did actually see the standard nuts OR the Key anywhere.
Can't wait to get some new sensors for me 19's so I can put my summer set of tires on it.

Got my emblems painted Friday. Waited till today to put them on. 3D paint effect came out good. I like it, so it's staying. 5 coats of clear helped I'm sure...

Outlander 2.4 aluminum pulley install
Here's the scoop. Pretty straight forward really. A few tools, 14mm wrench for the pulley tensioner, a 22mm for the crank pulley bolt an impact wrench (cheapo from Harbor Freight works GREAT) a jack and stand and of course a small flat blade screw driver for popping out the push clips in the plastic access cover.
The whole thing should only take about an hour. taking pics and such, I set aside 2 hours and had time to check out my 19's while the wheel was off. I reset the ECU by taking off the neg cable. UTE runs smooth and you can tell the motor runs better through out all RPM ranges. Gets up and goes a lil quicker but not "night and day" difference. We'll see what the mpg's are like after a bit.
On to the pics.

The RRM pulley clears the ribs in the new block design. The OBX pulley does not unless you grind the ribs down. You can see them in the shot of it running.
The Outlander has a simple access panel that makes it easier to get to than the previous OS sport I changed pulley's on.

Got bored, so I got busy and finished off the decal set I've been sitting on since Christmas.. The Red I think is good and different look to the Blue than the usual silver, white or Black.
Thing goes SUPER fast now... lol

Picked up a new set of tires off ebay for my 19's. I ended up just throwing out a bid of $360 for some new Dunlop (BMW take offs) SP Sport 01A's. there were 5hrs left so I figured what the heck.... When it closed, I was the winning bidder at $325. lol
245/45/19's with less than 20 miles on them. (driven over to the tire shop after new purchase).
Lucky me, they cost $480 "a piece" new,,,,,, and I got free shipping.
sometimes the bay auctions pay off. They have shipped and will be here Monday. Yay....
