GALACTICA 2016 Outlander Build
I just cut from one side to the other stopping before going through. The width of the cut off wheel gave me enough space to bend the bar and give me the right angle to avoid the air box and some wiring harness on the opposite side.
After cutting through, I just bent it back into itself, tacked it while holding it together and then finished welding it up.
I'm looking into powder coating it tomorrow, probably just do a black since it's popular and can be ran same day. If color don't matter on price and time, I'm thinking about a charcoal grey color. Hammer finish perhaps.
Well, the places I've called have a minimum charge, so no big deal, wanting it done now, I took it to a place that is doing it today in gloss black. I'll have it later in the day. Yee Haw.
I'll try to get pics posted up soon. I may be able to have this reproduced, so if there's a demand for them we'll see if it can be done cheaply. later.

So,,,,, this bar is AWESOME!!!!!!!! Holy Cow what a difference.
I can't believe how much body flex the outlander had over the OS. and my previous OS also ran the Ultra Racing strut bar. I modeled this bar after that one (beefier tho) and this thing has really stiffened up the body. It's much more stable over bumps and more in control when cornering. Best I've personally done for it's handling aside from the performance tires. On to the pics.

Freakin' awesome!
Nice work buddy!!
Now I just wish Mitsu would drop that damn 2.4L Turbo into the Outlander so I can go ahead and buy the thing! AND, I can order a custom S-Bar from Krakker
I know I would hate myself to give my money to KIA.. but their Sorento's engine 2.0L Turbo is enticing...

The 2.0T from Huyndai/Kia, is no joke. My 13 Sonata had one (lil modified of coarse) and that thing was a beast!!!!! That thing would eat V8 chargers, etc. for lunch.
For the money, adding a few mods to the outlander I think is worth it. Another day in, and I'm still finding night and day difference in how the road manners have changed for the better. MUCH more predictable and stable.
Great thread.
Thanks very much for the bumper removal instructions.
Just upgraded my horn as the stock one was not conveying anger in a suitable fashion, went with the Stebel Nautilus compact.
Some slight differences in the 2017 Outlander - but only that a couple of the bolts are now plastic clips, but everything still where you said.

Updates: Some good, some bad.
Got my windshield replaced on Monday, Tuesday went back to the tint place to have the top sun strip redone, and then POW, Friday making a turn going to work (from a stop no less) the windshield shatters in the upper right area. Really weird the way it happened, but after going to Safelite, they got setup for a warranty replacement. Something must have been defective in the glass.
The lady that does my tint work also wrapped my grill in CF. turned out pretty good. I think when I get some time and warmer weather, I'm going to recolor the triple diamonds in my STEELERS colors. (Yellow Red Blue) I used a smooth CF wrap since I just wanted the look and not the texture.
I'm thinking of redoing the grey on the front bumper fangs and the rear section between the tail lights in a Grey CF too.
