Stock strut swap question

I need to do the struts on my 2012 OS and I would like to find the complete units but all i can find is the bare strut. I can find complete lancer units and i know based on reading they will fit, my question is how is the ride quality. I use my OS a little more like a work van so it carries a bit of load all the time (no towing). I dont mind a stiff ride, I just dont want a softer ride or to bottom out because of the weight. TIA

update: After doing some more personal research, I decided to order struts for the full size outlander (w/o 3rd row) I figured struts for the bigger vehicle might equal struts with a little higher load capacity springs since I use my OS more like a work van. They are the same as far as mounting goes. I installed the rears last night. Laying side by side there was no difference in length. Car sits about a inch higher than it did on the factory struts with 116k on them. Will probably do the fronts this weekend.

did the fronts yesterday. they fit like a glove Car sits about an inch higher in the front too. ride is a bit firmer but not harsh in my opinion.

here is about a year ago on the old struts for comparison.

Looks nice!

That looks really nice tardisguy,
Thank you for the information.
I have a 2019 RVR (OS) and I recently purchased the H&R spring kit that gives me about 1.2 “ of lift, The only issue I found is it raised the front a little higher than the rear. I understand these kits act as levellers, but the rear is a little too low for my liking. I’m looking to grab rear struts from an Outlander, to see if that does the trick. I’m debating on whether I should do all four struts at once, but my stock ones in place are fine for wear, i would just want a little height out of the rear.
i’m know the 2019 outlander struts would fit, no problem - but it looks like they may have changed a bit for 2020 models or newer - if anyone can confirm whether the newer model struts would fit that would be fantastic.

Update: left the stock struts as recommended. No Outlanders at the scrapyard lol but i will look to get backups in the future and see if they fit. I have a feeling they may not. The H&R spring kit was designed to work with the stock struts as its not too extreme. The front is nearly 0.5” higher but its great for the washboard logging roads at the hunt camp. New 16’s balanced perfectly and the all-terrain tires make the biggest difference offroad, by far. Sailun 235/70R16 was the max fit without rub.
