yep.....i will try to find the article....it was talking about out of the 47,000 samples taken yearly less than 1% didnt pass the "regulation" so they must have just shipped that stuff to ampm and sheets

 

yeah, but passing regulation is a different thing from saying which one is better.... vpower here...but maybe I am just a sucker for expensive gas....but it's been good to me apart from one time that I think I must have got a bad batch, or maybe they had stirred up the water in the tanks...

 

Aaron and I were talking about this a long time ago. I think there is like one location where fuel comes into WA so it is all pretty much the same. Of course, I don't know if fuel is trucked in (I'd think that would be too costly, but I don't know).

 

I've gotten bad batches at Shell. It was one Shell in particular (basically close to where 405 and 90 connect). If I'm not running Costco I usually go to Chevron.

 

Shell 92 acts as a 94oct so I have heard... I'd be willing to bet, go put AMPM gas in your car, then dyno... and then go empty and put Shell in your car, then dyno... I'd be willing to bet Shell would make more power..

 

hmmm what about Techron??? Thats all i ever seem to dump in my car.......

someone SHOULD do that dyno comparison. hhaha

 

I can vouch for that. When first got tuned at ER, I had a tank of chevron. When I went back a few weeks later to finish the tune, I had a tank of ARCO and when we did the baseline, I put down like 15 HP less at the peak and the curve around 1K-3K was really bad. Only thing Lucas could guess was the problem was the ARCO gas was screwing things up. All other conditions were about the same, the only variable that changed was the gas.

Look at my sig, the 253WHP was AFTER lucas messed around and got it back up to that.
